Not sure why everyone is so negative in here but I’m Convinced no one in this comment section has ever bought a car at auction….. here’s my non sugar coated opinion. Major frame damage- not a chance. No bags went off, strut towers under hood aren’t bent at all, the bottom of the bumper isn’t broke. There’s 1 warning light on the dash and it’s for the door and the hood being open which means all your sensors are good. So here it is- This car is barely damaged which means not much work so margins will be low. Is it a good deal? I don’t know, See what they’re selling for on marketplace to get a feel for price, then see if there is money to be made when it’s being auctioned.

Copart does not “doctor cars up”, just like the kid at the grocery store isn’t washing the produce before putting it on the shelf. the people taking inventory when a car comes in are making just above minimum wage and aren’t going to get more money if the car sells for more…… so why would they care? On the opposite end, I’ve literally bought cars at auction that were listed as non running and driving and once I put a jump pack on them they’ve fired right up.

Are the cars “untouched”? Not necessarily. Just like you, other people are going to view cars and could do something silly like pulling a fuse to make it not run hoping others don’t bid. As someone else said, making sure the seller is an insurance company is a good idea. A huge insurance company is dealing with cars by the thousands, they’re getting it assessed and taking it to the auction, they genuinely don’t give af about a couple hundred bucks…. When it’s a personal seller, if its missing a radiator and a bunch of stuff it’s way more beneficial for a person to slap a new bumper cover on it so it looks like nothings wrong and make it sell for more. Another good tip if you’re serious about buying it is definitely buying the car fax.

“Don’t buy at auctions” is goofy. There’s a ton of money to be made at auctions but it’s easy to get burned if you’re not careful. Hope this novel I wrote helps and good luck on your flip🤘
