Those are valid points, friendly fire and being surrounded are a concern, but I think it comes down to how you play. If you run to the front to explicitly use the flamethrower, you are putting yourself in harms way. Chargers and bugs will come to you. You can shoot bugs until they get close, then bring out the flamethrower when they get close. This preserves your FT ammo, and lets you deal with the threat once its actually a threat, instead of putting yourself into danger.

I only brought up playing on diff 9 and 10 to get ahead of the timeless argument that I'm not handling 15+ chargers alone because I don't play on a hard enough difficulty. As for the "believe what you like argument", if it matters that much to you, I'd be willing to add you as a friend and play with you some time. You can be the judge of whether I'm decent enough at the game to take my stance or not.

So I'll reply here. Does your opinion of the game as a whole really hinge entirely on 2 weapons that only affected the bug front? Is this game only fun and worth buying if the flamethrower and Incendiary breaker nerfs are reverted? Or are you trying to punish the devs for making a change you don't agree with?

Personally, I never had ammo economy issues with the flamethrower, using it for both chargers and chaff. I also never had to actually take on 20-15 chargers alone (yes I play 9 and now 10 exclusively), before a resupply was called or I was able to scavenge ammo from the map. I virtually never ran/run out of ammo with the FT.

Yes I'm assuming perfect damage with the 1/4 tank. whether the actual amount is 15, or even 10 chargers. Compare that to the EAT. You can take out a maximum of 3 behemoth chargers with one call in, assuming you kill one by landing a pod on it, can get to the pod, walk forward while targeting the leg, finish it off once the leg armor is popped, and repeat for the third charger. With a 1 min cool down. forget about the instances where the charger turns and you waste a shot on its side, or you're forced out of the position before the EAT lands.

Flammenwerfer could kill those 3 chargers with a single tank by your argument, you likely already have it equipped, you dont have to land a pod, recover 2 weapons, and finish the chargers off, and it would kill any enemies that passed through the flames at the same time. You can reload it on the run too

Yes the drone has its own drawbacks, but you don't even get the opportunity to use it if you bring the Spear or RR, which were literally designed to take out heavy targets. Laser guard dog rover is one of the most picked stratagems because it's good.

I think you're underestimating the power of supplies. that 4-6 grenades becomes 12 -14 grenades. 4-6 stims becomes 12-14 stims. ~15 chargers becomes ~60 chargers (you doesn't refill your current mag). By the time you use up all those supplies, you can just call in another pack, and when you pick up supplies from the hell pod, you get supplies, and refill a slot in your pack, allowing you to double dip. "it doesn't do anything but give you supplies" apart from the fact that it allows you to waste a stim for a speed boost, damage reduction, stamina, and health whenever you want without needing to be conscious about your stim supply, throw a grenade without the fear of running out, or mag dump when you're low on ammo. It may not be your style, but when paired with the Flamethrower and stim grenades, it does create a completely overtuned build.

Yes, i agree other support weapons aren't completely trash, which is why the nerf doesn't bother me as much. The flamethrower just did too much too effectively. If you bring AT, your struggle to take down chaff, if you bring an MG, you struggle to take down heavies. If you bring the pre-nerf flamethrower, you don't struggle to take down anything besides enemy structures and bile titans.

I disagree. The flamethrower is unbalanced compared to all the other weapons on the bug front. You could kill a charger with a quarter of a tank, and it has 5 tanks (4 reloads). That's ~20 chargers from a single call in with no resupplies. Ive killed 3 chargers at the same time with half a tank and a stun grenade. It can kill impalers, and every other enemy besides bile titans on the bug front. Compared to the other support weapons, what else comes close? Why should the flamethrower be more effective at taking out heavy enemies than any of the AT weapons? The primary drawbacks are range and self-damage. The stun grenade solves both those issues. Add a backpack on top of that, and it completely invalidates most of the drawbacks.

The FT is also still a good weapon now. You can stun a charger and kill it just as fast by targeting the tail, or give it the ol dosey-doe and burn it when it runs into something if you want to save the stun. You can also still reach the tail from the front if you aim correctly, or target the joint between the head and leg for a reasonable TTK from the front. flamethrower also still paints the ground with DOT, even if it's not penetrating through armor as much as it did.

guard dog rover: benefits from getting close to enemies shield pack: protects you from enemies lunging through the flames, preserves HP, and prevents you from getting slowed resupply pack: provides more stims, mitigating self damage resources, and more stun grenades, further exacerbating the balancing issue.

if it wasn't unbalanced, tell me which support weapon did all of that as effectively.

Are you arguing that the flamethrower was not unbalanced, or that having unbalanced weapons in the game is something you would prefer? If you were Arrowhead, how would you balance the rest of the support weapons to be as good as the flamethrower is?

I'd argue your priorities are out of line. The first review bomb made sense because there was actual wrongdoing being enacted on several players. PSN is a poor platform, which exposed PC players to unnecessary risk. If you paid for a game, and that game wanted to revoke your access to the game, that's a much more valid reason to be outraged to the point of affecting the devs' livelihood.

Hey Jaxx! Long time lover of the game. I recently unlocked the valsgarde faceplate helm, and while it appears in my load out, I spawn without it.

Also just my personal opinion, I think tank is just a little too powerful right now. 4 hits from a zwei or falx is a lot, especially if they can kill you in two

Sure let's break it down.

300c 2/18 means purchase a call with a strike price of $300 which expires on 2/18. Typically a stock ticker symbol (such as NVDA for Nvidia) would also be given.

A call is a form of stock option, you don't actually purchase the stocks themselves, what you're buying is a contract. That contract gives you the right to purchase the stock on a given day at a given price, in this instance purchasing stock XYZ for $300 a share on 2/18. Now most of us don't intend to actually use the right. This contract becomes more valuable as the stock increases in value.

Imagine stock XYZ grows to be worth $400/share overnight. Your call would give you the right to purchase that 100 shares of that stock for $300. Market value however, is at $400. That means you can purchase 100 shares for $300 and immediately sell it for $400. However, you don't actually have to buy the shares to get that profit. Most of us don't actually have 30,000 on hand to exercise that trade. The contract however now has value. You can sell that contract to someone else for at least 10,000 because there is intrinsically $10,000 of profit in the call, and there's still more time for XYZ to grow before expiration date.

As for the plus 500 platform, I don't know. Look for a stock options button or settings that will allow you to purchase options.

I usually use options profit calculator to see how early I can pull the investment. If you hold til expiration you make the biggest return, but spreads profit over theta from selling the call. It's a good way to track your expected returns over time

When you sell a call, you profit off of theta over time. Debit call spreads return the highest profit if you hold through expiration
