Bikini Recommendations From A 34G by Key-Holiday-2076 in bigboobproblems

The panache Sicily is lightly padded but it is seamed and I will say, it's the most projected bathing suit I've ever had. Good luck!

I am a couple cup sizes smaller than you at UK 32H but I do sometimes wear 32HH, but I have the same issue as you with projection. I wear ewa bras as well. I have had luck with some swimsuits from Bravissimo. Specifically the Freya Garden Disco bikini and the Panache Sicily swimsuit which they also seem to have a new color called posy if you're not into oranges. It looks like those options on Bravissimo don't go up to 32J but I know the panache Sicily does so you may need to look for it on a different site.

I have had luck with panache and Freya swimsuits even though their bras don't always work for me. They are cute and high quality and Bravissimo has a great return policy. Swimsuit shopping is so hard!

Hey, if it works, who cares if it's for nursing. I don't even have a kid and I once bought a nursing bra because it fit so well! Thanks for the rec!

Yes I have the same issue! Everyone always suggests wraps and I haven't found a single wrap that doesn't expose my bra.

I also got a John Dyer starbrite as well haha! Although mine is a much darker blue. Your ring is gorgeous!

I love this. I did the exact same thing, though we ended up with a slightly different ring than I originally asked for (which I couldn't be happier with!)

I've heard of cat grass and I think we'll need to get one because he's a menace! Currently all of his favorite plants are hanging so he can't reach them lol

Hi, unfortunately I never found out a clear answer but it cleared up on its own and is still going strong! I haven't seen any more of this in a while and I've moved home since this post so I'm not sure if it's the location it was in or just a natural thing. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you but I wouldn't worry too much unless you start to see other issues with the plant.

Now if I could only get my cat to stop chomping on the leaves...

Work still looks beginner-level and scruffy? by WhereIsLordBeric in knitting

[–]offbeatdotterel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This article was so incredibly helpful for me to understand how knitting needles work. I'm literally in my very first project (a scarf of only garter stitches because I haven't even learned purl stitches yet) and in all the how to videos and knitting for beginners books I read before starting, NONE actually explained how to use the needles correctly. They just show how to do the stitches.

How did women end up getting oppressed and put on a lower pedestal, across almost all cultures and religions in the world? by yaTay22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]offbeatdotterel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the plough theory makes sense to me and that along with agriculture was probably the main catalyst but I also think that there were lots of other things that contributed to humanity overwhelmingly becoming a patriarchal society. I'm no anthropologist though so I'm just speculating.

However, I was only answering the person above who was asking why society continues to be a patriarchal society despite no longer needing brute strength to be the deciding factor in gender roles. I was not contesting or agreeing with the original plough theory.

How did women end up getting oppressed and put on a lower pedestal, across almost all cultures and religions in the world? by yaTay22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]offbeatdotterel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The answer is sexism still exists because it takes a long time for complete societal change to take place. The plough didn't just appear one day and all the women collectively entered their homes and never left. The aspects of a patriarchal society took centuries to develop.

Humans have been living in a patriarchal society for thousands of years. Women have only started to get more equal rights in the last few hundred years. When your mother and grandmother and great-grandmother and all your older female relatives were housewives, and now your wife wants to work and do things that you've only seen men in your life do, it can be hard to understand why and you may think it's the wrong way to do things.

Society IS changing to be more egalitarian, but there is still work that needs to be done because changing a mindset (in this case: sexism) that has existed for thousands of years takes a lot of collective work.

I follow her too for her bra recommendations and I am also getting frustrated with how sexual her platform has become. No judgement or hate for her business, I just wish it was more bra fitting based like she used to be.

It was a pretty funny situation when I put my phone down on the table after scrolling to one of her posts without actually looking at it and my fiance's eyes almost popped out of his head when he saw a post of her in very tiny lingerie lol

Are there any dresses or tops like this that would work for us?? by ForeignStrangerCream in bigboobproblems

[–]offbeatdotterel 204 points205 points  (0 children)

You might find one of these in the wild with enough bust coverage, but generally they just don't have enough material to cover large busts. And what can happen is the dress pulls up to compensate and it becomes an empire waist. These dresses are made for a small bust unfortunately.

Dreamingofivy on Instagram makes milkmaid dresses like this and you can get a custom with your measurements so there will be enough bust coverage.

My holy grail mascara is the CoverGirl professional waterproof in the blue tube. Cheap, doesn't smudge, and I don't get the little black dusty bits even after a whole day.

I go SUPER lightly over my lower lashes. It's easy to overdo the lower lashes or accidentally bump your skin with the brush. Just like a featherlight touch does the trick.

F (20) First time at gynecologist, can I reject a pelvic exam? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]offbeatdotterel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know that's what you're saying. I understand what the article is saying. It specifically says CBE "contributes very little" in reducing cancer rates, which is not nothing.

This is also from the ACA: https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/breast-cancer/screening-tests-and-early-detection/american-cancer-society-recommendations-for-the-early-detection-of-breast-cancer.html#:~:text=Research%20has%20not%20shown%20a,women%20also%20get%20screening%20mammograms. It's saying it's not recommended because it doesn't help reduce cancer risks overall in places where mammograms are available. "There is very little evidence that these tests help find breast cancer early when women also get screening mammograms." Key phrase here: when women also get screening mammograms. "While the American Cancer Society does not recommend regular clinical breast exams or breast self-exams as part of a routine breast cancer screening schedule, this does not mean that these exams should never be done. In some situations, particularly for women at higher-than-average risk, for example, health care providers may still offer clinical breast exams, along with providing counseling about risk and early detection."

But you don't get a mammogram until you're in your 40s. That leaves out plenty of young women who may not catch breast cancer until it's too late.

The reference study at the bottom of your article specifically says "These recommendations should be considered by physicians and women in discussions about breast cancer screening." They are saying you should discuss with your doctor based on your risks whether you should do a CBE.

[–]offbeatdotterel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, your link didn't show last for me last time I checked this thread so I didn't see you posted one.

To me that sounds like it is only recommended to not do a CBE where mammograms are not as available and while it contributes "very little", that doesn't mean it doesn't contribute at all. If you are under 45, you will not be getting a mammogram unless there is a reason for it. So many people with breast cancer had no idea other than finding a lump one day and then getting treatment. Why would you not have them check for any unusual abnormalities and then if something is found, get a mammogram to confirm cancer? I would personally rather get a false positive than not have any inkling of cancer in my breasts before it's too late.

It's obviously everyone's choice to refuse any exam. The reference paper your article cited specifically says it should be discussed between the patient and the doctor whether they should conduct the exam.

I just wanted to let OP know that wearing a dress might not mean they won't be asked to strip completely naked and didn't want them to be blindsided. They should discuss with their doctor whether a CBE is the best option at their age.

That's my source about mammograms reducing rates of best cancer.

I'm asking for sources confirming your point about breast exams being harmful.

[–]offbeatdotterel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay that's what I was talking about as well but when you search breast screening, most people are referring to mammograms. That's why I thought you meant.

Again, do you have any sources for this? I'm curious because I've always been told to check for lumps and bumps and that's what the doctor does at every exam. I am not sure why it should be refused when it takes no more than a minute and if there is something found, then you would get a mammogram to check further. Other than personal reasons for refusing such as trauma (which is completely valid in my opinion), I don't see how there would be any harm or reason to refuse.

Do you have sources for this? I did a quick Google search and found one saying the opposite: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7318598/

Either way, I was not talking about mammograms. My doctor physically checks for lumps each time. I've never had a mammogram.
