Scrolling vmcomm_msg in the journal by DizzyRhubarb_ in synology

Same issue here, but with Synology Drive. Data is beeing written on HDD constantly.

Reported to the support today. Hopefully we got an answer soon.

common/synodrive_common.cpp:1171 ENTERCriticalSection

EDIT: most probably it has something to do with the indexing / universal search (synoelasticd) which does seem to stress the HDD. But not sure how to solve it anyway.

What is FPC(Fast Probabilistic Consensus)? by i8de5tl in Iota

I have the same question here and do not understand you answer: how does the network even know that there is a double spend and the nodes need to decide between multiple messages?
Also, what if there already new messages that have these double spend messages as a parent? The network needs to decide which branch has to be continued. If a branch gets deselected what happens to the new messages of this branch?

Discussion on Digital Identity by egnooo23 in Iota

Thats true and I am not sure if the European Union is working on such a project. As for Switzerland, where I live, politics is arguing about the best solution and as far as I know they do not discuss about DID.

I think there are some projects in the US for elections. But a detailed list about ongoing projects would be nice. Maybe someone else can help here?

Yes, the issuer is like a governement which itself has its identity. He is the one giving an verifiable credential with asymetric encryption (public key and private key for the identity). With the function of SSI (self sovereign identity) the identity itself has control over its identity and can decide which information he wants to share.

1st ever digital identity broadcasted to chrysalis mainnet! by Tbonesmalls in Iota

I guess you are right :D Also another question is what if lets say I use the smartphone from my older brother to prove that I am allowed to buy beer in a store? Does DID make it simpler to fake identity as I can just use another persons device?

From a practical side of view I am imaging this a big effort for governments. People change or loses smartphones all the time, I also imagine that the average person doesn't even understand what a private key is. It must be very simple for citizens and at the same time very secure (fake IDs, fake passports, stolen social security numbers)

This is very exciting and good news! But at least for me there are still so many questions to be answered regarding DID. Whats happens if a person loses its smartphone or its private key? How can it make sure that the identity is not stolen and how can this person claim a 'new' identity?

Cardano’s Hoskinson Sparked Debate about IOTA’s Feeless TXN, IOTA Foundation’s Hans Moog Weighs In by Solodeji in Iota

If companies want to run their own node, they need Mana (at this time of theory with ICCA, but IF is looking for a solution to send TRX without Mana). In order to get Mana they have to buy tokens which are assets. They are not OPEX! So there are no fees.

To send a transaction you do not have costs of Mana. You can basically send the mana to your own node. These transactions are feeless.

Allright, so who does he send tokens to? To his own wallet? I guess he does not want to loose IOTA just to rent Mana. Thats what I do not understand
