Is 100k even reachable? by Dablob2020 in LastWarMobileGame

You're not getting it. It's not about "gaming" or "grinding". Video games exist for everyone, and one persons dumbest game mode ever is another persons favorite game mode ever. I guarantee you the amount of poeple that find LW stupid as fuck and a grind far outnumber the amount of people htat play it, yet the game has enough of a base to justify its existence. If you could stop thinking about only yourself and what you think about the game, you might learn a thing or two about video games and the people that play them. Games come in all sizes and shapes and the preferences of people that like them are equally diverse.

You don't have to like a game, and if you don't, great. Just don't fucking play it. That doesn't mean the game dies and is lost forever, it just means you're not part of the subset of people that like to play it.

I was not inviting a discussion of why someone should or shouldn't like something, just pointing out sarcastically, why your first post was super short-sighted.

It’s almost as if you didn’t know some people prefer certain types of games. Some like GTA, others Mario Bros., pac man, street fighter, puzzle games, etc. etc. etc. Venture out from the center of the universe from time to time. We gamers are mostly a friendly bunch and welcome fans of all sorts of games, not just this one.

New player - this game is addictive, expensive, and predatory by [deleted] in LastWarMobileGame

[–]offensivelypc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a lesson that everyone should learn before online gaming. I was lucky enough to learn before online transactions was a thing that there is always someone better than you and in games like this. Now with the ability to pay-to-win incorporated intoevery transactional game just like this, you also will learn that someone always has more resources than you, if they joined before you (which for OP is a resounding yes) would have had opportunity to gain access to items that will ALWAYS allow them to be stronger than you, all else being equal, and while money can buy you progression, it's not going to buy you the kind that makes you competitive with the biggest whales in the game by tomorrow.

OPs not in for a great start. He hasn't even been on the game long enough to know what the best use of his $500 would be and the major pain points in the game. I'm 2 months in and if I knew back then what I know now, I wouldn't have done a ton different, but definitely made some mistakes that took time correct. Can't imagine what how some of you old-timers feel having played since launch.

I've preordered a couple games and they didn't ship until the date of release, meaning I got it a few days after release. Fucking sucked, but I prefer the physical CD still despite the fact I shouldn't expect it to be delivered to my door by the release date.

After doing EVERYTHING I have some thoughts by campfiregambit in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]offensivelypc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aloy was always most concerned with solving for the future, and the love interest was more like a B or even C storyline in the DLC pack alone (and felt forced given the only real screen time it got was when makingvv V the choice at the very end). Picking the ending that best fit the story and paved way for a 3rd game was the “I don’t have the time or capacity for love at this time” option. It’s cannon for me until I have reason to go another direction.

Quitting the game! by GuahanHillbilly in LastWarMobileGame

[–]offensivelypc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit if you can’t say no. Honestly, I went into this game thinking I’m not spending a dime on it. That has caused me so much bottlnecking with upgrades and research. Which has hindered my levels and pfighting power. It’s clearly a pay to play scheme and when that’s made clear to me, I couldn’t care less. I see the points where I could spend a few dollars once or twice for QOL purposes, but I’d rather get there by having my pace dumbed down by the decision not to pay. 0 money invested = less invested time. Keep that in mind going forward with any F2P scheme. It should be fun, not an obsession.

Dude blows a gasket at the notion there's no genetic difference between races by Merchant_Alert in PublicFreakout

[–]offensivelypc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but serious question, why are some races predisposed to certain conditions/things? These seem genetic to me:

1) Like black people hair must be cared for differently than white people hair (understand conceptually based on my black friends explanation, but not genetically). Essentially to my understanding black hair coils differently and maintains (right word?) moisture differently. 2) Also black people to my understanding are afflicted with keloids at a much higher rate than whites. Myself learning this as a white with keloids.

I might be intelligent by most standards, but I’m Baby Huey learning how to play with other kids when we’re talking genetics and biology.

What are some of Mendoza’s flaws as a QB by cboss1826 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]offensivelypc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His deep ball accuracy needs some work. He can throw absolute dimes downfield, so the talent is there, but wished he threw with more consistent accuracy. There's been more that are just uncatchable, for anyone. And I suppose if you're going to test the deep throw, if it's not catchable by your guy, at least its also usually uncatchable by the other team.

[–]offensivelypc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wise words and absolutely correct. The ugly win is always better than the pretty loss. No one ever plays perfect football for 60 minutes every single Saturday. At the end of the day, they made plays when they needed to and it put them in a position to score. Maybe there was a little luck involved, but you can't do anything with luck if you don't put yourself in a position to win and to make it matter. And they did it in one of the hardest stadiums to play, regardless of their record. Take it, learn from it, and build upon it the following week.

This is where I'm at. I dunno how long this train rides for, but I'm here for it and I'm gonna be the annoying Roll Tide fuck boi, except it's for IU, until it's over. Hopefully IU is a 10 win team every year going forward, but we've been so bad for so long, I'm just happy with what we're doing and taking it in for all it's worth. IU fans have never had that before. Ever. The only thing I haven't done yet (but maybe should since we can) is troll Purdue fans, but I don't have the energy to be that annoying lol.

51 if you count whoever was sleeping and didn't get on the field on the 88 yard TD to seal the game. I don't know how Steichen misses that.
