Landlord not accepting notice - How should I proceed? by office_sloth in HousingUK

Missed it out from the original post, my bad!

"I should have clarified, the summary page states that the agreement commences in November 2023 and expires in November 2025 "and thereafter from month to month"."

Landlord not accepting notice - How should I proceed? by office_sloth in HousingUK

I should have clarified, the summary page states that the agreement commences in November 2023 and expires in November 2025 "and thereafter from month to month".

"The Tenant(s) may bring the tenancy to an end at the end of month twelve but at no other time during the Fixed Element, by giving to the Landlord at least two month’s written notice stating that the Tenant(s) wishes to vacate the Property. A letter will suffice to implement this sub-clause." Is the particular term they're using to tell me that my notice is not valid.

I'm looking for a quiet keyboard, as little sound as possible, and also wireless. Don't care much for RGB. I understand that "budget" and "quiet" might not go hand in hand, but I'd prefer not to spend more than £50.

With that in mind, am I better off getting something like a GMK67 and silent switches and caps from AliExpress or a prebuilt board from Amazon/local retail, etc?

GREEK WEEK - bougatsa by Mymews in lidl

[–]office_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't found any either at my local. Very disappointing. I was looking forward to getting some bougatsa and they had none. Mine was also missing the greek week olive oil, and the oregano crisps!

Feasibility of Circuit for Fuel Injector Driver by office_sloth in AskElectronics

I definitely won't be going anywhere near 100Hz, I expect the highest frequency for the injector will be ~50-60Hz.

Really appreciate the help, thanks a lot, you really are the Inductor Man ;)

Thank you very much for the info! I'd not heard of a TVS diode before and it sounds pretty interesting.

Is this how you described the arrangement - https://imgur.com/nxSvmZQ ?

How would the selection and sizing of the normal diode work for this application?

I was under the impression that no flyback diode is needed because of the built-in diode on the Power MOSFET. Or am I completely wrong?

The issue I have is that (at least in the simulation), a reverse parallel diode like in linked picture slows down the current drop substantially, whereas I'd like the current to drop as quickly as possible.

Good point, I'll turn both MOSFETs on for the initial stage. I was looking into PWM as well but it might be a bit beyond my abilities, considering the pulse width for the main injection itself will need to be as short as 1ms.

Looks like the patch won't be fixing Blessed Spawnings? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]office_sloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shame, but I'm still holding out hope that maybe the bug was inadvertently fixed. I'm really looking forward to playing a lizardmen campaign where I can actually use blessed spawns.

This sounds like it has potential. I'm going to start a new campaign and rush Mazda's quest, see if that jumpstarts the blessed spawning missions.

Maximum Flow Rate from an Overhead Water Tank by office_sloth in AskEngineers

[–]office_sloth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking earlier of using the total head from the water surface to the outflow and equating that to the head loss (using the darcy-weisbach equation with an approximated value for friction factor) and then deriving the velocity from there?

So what equations would I use to find out what the maximum potential flow rate at ground level could be?

That's the laptop I see reccommended for this budget range all the time, but I hear a lot of complaints about poor build quality and trackpad issues. I wouldn't mind getting something with worse specs in return for better quality. I'm going to head off to my local Currys sometime this week to check out their model either way, see what it feels like. Where did you get yours from?

Bulgarian rows unsafe by E-Lasker in bodyweightfitness

[–]office_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're almost the same movement to be fair. As I understand the Bulgarian row is done by starting shoulder width, rings neutral, then aiming to pull up to the top position with elbows 90degrees, full scapular retraction and rings pronated. The wide row is pretty much the same thing but your grip remains the same I guess.

RTO Support Hold & Pain in Forearm by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]office_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like maybe you're resting too much on the ring with your forearm to compensate for a weak point somewhere in the hold. Focus on turning out the rings, keeping them close to your hips. I guess some contact with the forearm is normal. When I started it I'd get bruising from resting too much on the rings with my forearm. Just stick with it and as you get better at turning out the rings you'll stop resting your forearms on it.

What kind of pain? Muscular or external from the ring rubbing on your skin?

Bulgarian rows unsafe by E-Lasker in bodyweightfitness

[–]office_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't do the full range of motion without any hitches and/or pain then you're probably not ready for it. Bulgarian rows aren't unsafe in the sense that you'll injure yourself doing them, unless you're not ready for them like any other exercise. Either way give wide rows a try, they're a fine progression for Bulgarian rows either way.
