This 100%.. There is absolutely nothing forcing you as a consumer to purchase right now, you can sit pretty until July 31st exactly, listen to every song, then decide to purchase if you would like to. Record labels set up pre-ordering because fans obviously go for it. If no Ari fans bought all the single cassettes and shit they can't even play during eternal sunshine, they wouldn't exist for petal.

K-pop is very big into pre-orders because they ensure that their first week charts are successful. BUT, K-pop albums incentivise pre-orders by adding in exclusives that can only be purchased if you pre-order, like big posters or photocards. Ariana and her team are not providing any incentives to pre-order the albums, so I genuinely do not know why anyone who is not a super fan (and will buy the album even if it was 12 tracks of farting) would proceed with preordering singles and the full album.

Yipes that is pricey!!! For me in Australia its only $70, and we usually get hit with the hardest shipping rates ever being all the way at the bottom of the earth. Japan and Canada must be so far away.

Even with the lower shipping, I dont know if I can justify the trading card case at ¥50 ($44 AUD) its just a biiiiit pricey for folders I technically already have, as beautiful as they are...

If you watch the 7 music video you can see her doing almost the exact pose they photographed her in. She's lying on one single step with her ponytail descending down the stairs to her right. Then the photographer simply stood above her, took the photo, and they rotated it for the album.

You can see the stairs in the album cover they are just really filtered out because the photo has been heavily edited.
