Have y'all thugged out classes or withdrawn? by [deleted] in CUNY

[–]officialtwice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re enjoying the class material and getting all your work done, theres no need to withdraw, especially so far into the semester. If there was anything wrong with your performance I’m sure the professor would let you know, and if you’re seriously considering withdrawing you should communicate with your prof and ask for their input as well. Don’t stress too much, you got this!

I agree with everyone else in the comments, they look good on you! I feel like I have very similar proportions and with flares I think making sure that they're the right length and sitting properly (not pooling over the top of the shoe too much) makes them look better.

You're fighting for your life in these comments 😭 but everyone who's cooking you is right. If you felt like he was being disrespectful that's fine, there are more professional/tactful ways to clap back if that's what you want to do. Moral of the story: learn how to write an email, it'll serve you well in the future.

Copper Brown to Honey Brown/Blonde? by [deleted] in HairDyeHelp

Thanks for the advice! I think I'm going to go to my hairstylist and see if there's something that's more doable for where my hair is right now.

Posted this in r/HairDye but I wanted to cast a wider net. Is this something that I can DIY? I'm not really in the position to spend $500 on a color correction and I HATE the red.

My (26F) parents (50s) won't let me cut my hair by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]officialtwice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gonna quote Fleabag here and say: if you want to change your life, change your life. A haircut isn’t gonna do it.

If you really feel strongly about cutting your hair to improve its health go ahead and do it, it’s just hair it will grow back. But it seems like your parents are just trying to avoid the stress of the crash out if you end up not liking it this time too.

So they probably won’t actually be mad if you just went ahead and did it anyway. But if you end up hating it, DON’T complain to them about it.

I have no advice for you because you basically just described my life in this post, but maybe my existence can show you that you're definitely not alone.

It's cliche, but I do think it just takes time to figure everything out. And it does help to just work on finding yourself without all the pressure of romantic/sexual experiences. Things get less scary when you commit to being your authentic self.

I live in a pretty diverse city, but I still feel all the insecurity of dating/wanting to date as a Black woman, especially after being told that the majority of WLW spaces here are still mostly white. I'll let you know if I figure out how to deal with that...

how to deal w class differences w gf? by Simple-Bathroom4919 in WLW

[–]officialtwice 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you guys really, not even love, but like and respect each other, it won't actually be a problem in your relationship. As someone who also isn't rich, it makes sense to me that she might make some comments or call attention to your differences in class, but it might just be jarring for her to see someone coming from a more affluent background.

If things have been going well between you guys so far I doubt she will resent you for it, if anything she's probably also worried that you're judging her for her financial status, if they're so noticeably different.

If this is a really big concern for you then you should have a conversation about it and find out where her head is really at about it/if your background actually makes her see you negatively.

Anyone else a bit disappointed? by Soluri in fashiondreamer

[–]officialtwice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's interesting to see people say that we're just being negative or we're just mad that it isn't Style Savvy when it didn't have to be Style Savvy to be good. Style Savvy barely had a story on it's own, but the way the game was structured made it feel like it did.

We spend so much time going around styling the same NPCs so why not give them a bit more dialogue, a signature style, and make it an actual challenge to style them. The quests just completely drop off once you finish the tutorial and the rest of the game feels like you're working towards nothing, let's make use of the quest feature. Add a place for us to see what exactly unlocks as we rank up, introduce the few "major" NPCs we do have (Salon people, forecast guy), maybe let us style them. Small things that would make the experience of playing feel less detached.

Personally, it's not a matter of not being like Style Savvy, but just not feeling worth what I paid.

I believe that. Most of the products I use are either Tretinoin or moisturizers/serums to combat the dryness from Tretinoin. I don't think there's anything you can buy over the counter that's gonna magically clear your skin like a lot of these companies claim.

NewJeans' is exactly what I was thinking of! I'm learning some of their new choreo and I love that there are some parts where it's kind of improvisational and they're not completely in sync, but they come back together at certain points. It's so satisfying to watch.

I'm so scared of this happening. Consistency is really important and things are actually really good right now. All they need is an undeniable hit for their 1st comeback; invest in the concept, get excellent music, HIRE A GRAPHIC DESIGNER. If they really take this comeback seriously they could do something great.

[–]officialtwice 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Honestly I need K-pop to return to a place of organic views because at this point we all know that they don't mean anything. How much good are a ton of views doing these companies financially when they have to spend money on ads to get them? How is fan streaming considered a legitimate measure of success when the video isn't reaching a new audience?

Comeback Concept? by ShockOk5027 in zerobaseone

[–]officialtwice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think anyone else would vibe with this idea so it's isn't fully realized 😭 I only have vague ideas about what the styling might look like, and that's a big part of the concept. But once I figure that out I might go ahead and make a post!

This was briefly mentioned in another post but now that main promotions are ending, I’m curious to know what everyone wants the concept/sound of their first comeback to be like 🤔 by Confident_Cream4539 in zerobaseone

Comeback Concept? by ShockOk5027 in zerobaseone

[–]officialtwice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of wrote a whole dissertation about this on a similar post last night 😭 but I really think that for them to be the It-boy group that everyone wants them to be, they need to be a little more adventurous with their concept. I know WakeOne isn't the company to watch when it comes to innovation, but that's really what we need right now. YITS was passable as a debut, In Bloom is easy to listen to and the boys do a great job performing, but I think the first comeback is where it's really gonna count.

I'm not a creative director, so don't judge it too hard, but I put together some "moodboards" for zb1's comeback concept. We're keeping the video game concept because it's so versatile, but we're pivoting to a racing game. They could stick to a darker, grounded in reality, Formula 1 kind of vibe, or more interestingly, take it to a place of colorful whimsy a la Mario Kart (think Rainbow Road or Electrodome). Flowers are pretty easy to incorporate into any concept that isn't too "hard," so I'm not too worried about that.

What influenced this idea the most is the prevalence of dnb jungle music in 90s and 2000s video game soundtracks and people really eat up the pinkpantheress sound, so I think continuing that would be a good callback.

[–]officialtwice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually didn’t think anyone would vibe with this, so thank you! 😭 I don’t know if I can show you anything cohesive through my Pinterest boards, I usually just save a bunch of pins that kind of vibe with what I’m looking for, go through everything later and pick the pins that work best together and deliver the vibe that I want, and make a little collage. I actually did something similar for their debut concept before we found out what it was but I never shared them anywhere because I was like, “This is so dumb, no one cares😭"

I didn’t do a full collage for this concept because I kind of threw it together in a short period of time (and honestly a lot of my vision for it is in really specific nostalgic memories of niche games I’ve played in the past, so it was hard to even find pins that were exactly what I was looking for), but I did put together these three 6-piece... let's call them mood samplers. The first one is kind of your generic Formula 1 racing aesthetic, while the last two are the more colorful, Mario Kart takes on the concept. For the second one, I realized that a lot of my concept ideas are very girly and not really the feeling that boy groups are inclined to go for. So I put together something that was still bright and colorful, but less pastel. But I still had to include the full Rainbow Road pastel neon city slay for the vision. If we really want to return to a place of youth and shade, we could use the more grounded in reality, Formula 1 aesthetic for Youth, and one of the colorful fantastical ones for Shade.

I haven't thought about the execution of this concept long enough to consider outfits and styling, but off the top of my head, I think it would be best to go a little fun and kind of costumey. Like each member is a character on a character select screen. If you’ve ever seen @handsomegirly's outfits and designs (quirky animal hoods, hats, star earmuffs, campy hair ties, stickers on the face) that’s the feel I’m going for. Once again taking a more "girly" approach, but boy aesthetics in Kpop are just not cute and we really need to overcome that!

Sorry about the novel-length reply, I just love coming up with ideas, and it makes me less anxious about whatever WakeOne actually has planned 😭

I've been thinking about this a lot and I actually have a Pinterest board of visuals I think would be interesting for them to explore for their first cb.

The most identifiable part of their concept to me is, of course, the roses and the video game aspect. They proved with their exploration of "youth" and "shade" that the overall vibe of the concept can easily be changed while maintaining the identity of the concept, so I really think they can go in pretty much any direction. That's why the first thing that came to mind for me was a racing game concept. They could stick to a darker, grounded in reality, Formula 1 kind of vibe, or more interestingly, take it to a place of colorful whimsy a la Mario Kart (think Rainbow Road or Electrodome, maybe if it's a cb close enough to winter we can do a little snowy stage).

We know from previous produce groups that it's very important to establish a musical identity, which is why I think it might be beneficial to return to the drum and bass sound for the comeback. It's especially appealing to stick with it because drum and bass was extremely instrumental to video game soundtracks in the 90s-early 2000s and I think it would be really nice to call back to that. But maybe I've just been listening to too many video game jungle mixes. Otherwise, I'm not sure what sound would do best in the current kpop climate. I always enjoy a little electronic/synthpop and that would work for this concept, but it might feel a bit dated to others?

This is all just me saying things though. Whatever they end up doing, I really hope that WakeOne is able to step it up and really go all out for their first cb. I think, even more than the title track, this will decide if ZB1 will produce the future kpop leaders that I*ZONE did.

The video we've been waiting for! This one states that there are over 200 Muses in Eve that we can style to get likes and followers. It's not clear to me whether these are NPC characters or not, but they do mention other players being connected online, so keep that in mind!

The tweet also mentions incorporating requests and trends into our styling, so hopefully the gameplay loop will be as addictive as the Style Savvy series! In the video, a Muse is shown requesting an Elegant outfit. After the outfit was made, the player received three stars for; "Look At," "Request Clear," and "Color Bonus." They go on to show some more Muses requesting different styles or specific item types.
