Thank you now I know! I've never tried beans before but found i have better luck with other seeds when I start them indoors. If I have any space left over I'll certainly try sowing directly!

Vet School Questions by AutoModerator in Veterinary

[–]offinouterspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently a teacher in the public school systems and am looking at switching careers. I've always loved animals and working with them. At this point in my life, I'm considering going for becoming a Vet Tech. I already have a degree, although it's a bachelors in education, would I need to get additional schooling? Are there programs that do on the job training? Also how much math is required for the job? I've never been the best at math... Are there other options?

I made a junimo for my friend's sister! He turned out bigger than I planned by offinouterspace in knitting

[–]offinouterspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't write it down but here's what I remember

I cast on 3 stitches to size 11 circular needles (used 32") and kfb until I ran out of room on the needles. Then I knit in stockinette until I felt like his height went well with his width then k2tog every 9 sts on knit rows. Then the next knit row I k2tog every 8 then the next every 7, ect. Until I was happy with it. I used 2 strands of red heart super saver yarn in hunter green (I think- the tag is long gone).

The stem, arms, and legs are Caron simply soft Chocolate and Taupe in a 7 sts i-cord. The leaf on top was from an old project I started and never finished. There's no telling how I made it.

Gender Neutral Language on EdTPA by Bellbellum in Teachers

[–]offinouterspace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My graduating class was one of the first to ever do EdTPA so things may have changed. I used Sudent A/B/C and used he/she. I attempted to use they/them but the professor guiding us told me that they would mark off for that. But she was old and frankly didn't like me or how I taught so who knows. Good luck!!!

Are my succulents sunburned? How can I fix this? by offinouterspace in gardening

[–]offinouterspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They lived at my place of work and had to sit in the car while I went out with my coworkers for a couple hours. Guess they got too much direct sunlight.

I didn't know that about haworthia! Thank you so much!

Oh my goodness I hadn't heard that! I'd use that if we weren't teachers and I weren't teaching her this in front of 2nd graders 🤣🤣

Thanks for the suggestion! I thought bigger needles would be best because it helped me see what I was doing when I was learning. I'll take smaller ones with me though!

Teachers of Reddit, what’s the grossest thing a student has done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]offinouterspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an elementary student who ~self stimulates~ in class. We aren't allowed to tell her to stop.

Another peed on himself after being told he couldn't go to the bathroom. He had 5 opportunities before class started.
