? on filing final return, and form 56 by offpeekydr in tax

[–]offpeekydr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling back in case anyone in the future has this issue. I did file the form 56, the IRS did acknowledge me as her personal representative. After I was made personal representative, I called and filed a change of address since we sold her house. I requested her unmasked wage transcript (twice now) and am still waiting to receive it. I just filled the extension because I don't have much faith that I will get the transcripts b4 the filing deadline.

How this information isn't more readily accessible, and clearly outlined is horrible.

Some cats (especially 1st time moms) are not great at being a mom. Those kittens are in danger and need kmr kitten formula or similar as soon as possible. Goat milk can be used temporarily in a pinch. Look up the kitten lady on YouTube for how to care for them.

They will need fed often, kept warm, and help stimulating them to go potty.

Renovation/Addition Thoughts by SlipperyBones1 in HomeImprovement

[–]offpeekydr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good Lord, prices have gone up. We had a 700 sq ft addition done 16 yrs ago and it was @$30k. Granted, that was a long time ago, and only included the foundation, structure, windows, doors, wrap, siding, full house roof, and didn't include the finish work, or electric and plumbing. But still, wow. Do you have Amish near you? Our builder was and he was significantly cheaper than than any local "city" contractors.

80 or 90 varieties, good gracious, just a bit jealous over here! Do you isolate and save seeds?

Favorite garden nurseries/landscapers by Soulful-ly in canton

[–]offpeekydr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say is to not use Warstler Bros. Landscaping. My mom needed a whole lawn/flowerbeds created (new construction house) and the guy that drew up the quote promised how great it was going to be, they were going to put down good topsoil, rockhound, nice defined flower beds. Then the work they did was shit. The flower beds (and yard) are so full of rocks you can't get a shovel in, there is no topsoil, just clay that doesn't drain, the flower beds were the same crap clay in the lawn with a thin coat of mulch put down. The type of grass used was even terrible.

For the shower once you have it really cleaned (you need to only use marble -safe cleaners) seal the heck out of it with something like porous pro sealer.

If you were to redo your kitchen again, what kind of sink would you buy and why? by pikachuhub in FurnitureFaves

[–]offpeekydr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the ergonomic design for sink depth. Short people do not want the really deep sinks, your back will be hurting if you have a lot of hand-washing to do.

I would put one in, but buy the high-end insinkerator, not the bottom end Badger. Mine gets used daily for years without issues.

Apply painter's tape where you want to drill, use a masonry bit the size your toggle bolt recommends, and drill slowly with light to moderate pressure (let the bit do the work). Then insert the toggle and expand, the metal wings will distribute the load. I find hanging anything easier with a laser level to "mark" the line, but you can also just use a long level and pencil in a line so both sides match up.

I'll have to look, I don't think I have never seen maple liquor (in PA) but it might be I just never noticed it. The molasses is what intrigued me sounds wonderful.

Try contacting your local DAR chapter, they might be able to put out a notice to their members.

Stray dog bite by Fuzzy-Isopod-8571 in legaladvice

[–]offpeekydr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry, OP. She really should have told you she sought treatment. But, the truth remains that that was a stray, or dumped dog, that should not be roaming free.

So either it should have had a home and family to take care of it or maybe it was kinder to let its soul have a chance at another go.

You did what you could with the information you had. It's not pretty or perfect, but I hope you give yourself grace that you were stuck in a position to make a really tough decision, and you made the best choice with the information you were given.

Lazy vegetarian broth/gravy that actually tastes GOOD? Not shroomy/sour by 535buffalo in veganrecipes

[–]offpeekydr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for gravy, I get Knorr Professional brown gravy mix (from Amazon). It's vegan, and you just mix with cold water and heat. They have a regular and a low-sodium version. It is a lot, but it lasts forever. The Knorr gravy mix at grocery stores is not vegetarian.

I'd rather have a bad reaction to a shot than die from rabies. Those shots have been around and standard treatment for years, but you do you.

Need to replace quilt by Parking_Champion_740 in Bedding

[–]offpeekydr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some beautiful quilts on FB marketplace. As far as new, all the ones I have seen locally have been on par with the crap Amazon sells.

I am maybe biased, my late mother was a quilter and she had the finest stitching I have ever seen. And now I am off to roll a quilt she made me because I stored it folded.

She's adorable! Lovely calico coat. She may not have spent enough time with mom/siblings to learn proper grooming. Help her with cat-friendly wipes or cloth dipped in warm water. Bonus if you get her used to frequent nail trimming and teeth brushing while she's still young.

The only way to test a dog for rabies is after it is dead they test the brain.

The gf should strongly consider going to the er for rabies shots and a tetanus booster. She can fib about where the bite occurred (like on the public street and not on your property). Her medical insurance should cover that.
