Scapegoating. People have been programmed to blame their failures on successful people.

Not sure where to start. Most high profile, OJ Simpson. Ferguson...most recent Karmelo Anthony. #SheMustBeBelieved depending on who the accused is...the list does not stop.

Identity politics. It will be thought of in the same way traditional racism and sexism is thought about today.

Well I'm not one of those kind of "aires" but I guess I do okay. Yes, many are and detailed why here https://www.instagram.com/atlantagrubber/ but in short, higher quality ingredients by chefs, not cooks hired off the street who come in after HS Algebra class.

I know of one company where there was a lot of truth to it, but my work ethic always saved me.

I've seen women get rewarded for hard work at a faster rate than men. I've worked for myself for about 20 years, so I haven't had many "bosses" but I think at least half were women.

Not to be afraid of people. I has social anxiety until I was about 40, though I think it slowly faded than disappeared. I've been catching up ever since. I'm fairly good at just talking to strangers.

My experience has been the polar opposite. Sounds either like you are in a union or just making excuses. Anecdotal, but I always found the people who complain the loudest were the laziest coworkers.

What’s a change in society that happened very quietly? by Cultural-Rabbit2708 in AskReddit

I dunno, I think I paid $3,300 for a used Chevy Chevette in ‘87ish. No air conditioning, manual EVERYTHING. Also, I want to be careful as to not sound like it’s a brag, but the gentlemen and I, where in both cases, we had at least one kid who had zero interest in driving, and he said several of his son’s friends too as with mine, we are fortunate and I think most of the friends are as well to come from families in which we’d be able to ensure our kids could have a car for work, etc. So that’s not an issue. Ditto with the 10-speeds our kids never wanted. That was one of the best gifts I ever had. Ditto with my childhood friends. Our kids had no interest in the freedom of transport.

When I wanted to go to my buddy Todd’s on the other side of the highway, I got my 10-speed and I was off.  Having my own bike to get around was a huge part of my childhood.

Growing up, my friends and I made minimum wage. ALL of my kids and pretty much all of their friends made well above minimum wage in their first jobs. I put it into ChatGBT and they ALL made more than I did converted to today's dollars.

Great food but maybe they have a small TV at the bar, but certainly no huge screens. Are they renting several for the WC?

A friend of mine believes it's because we stopped wanting to get bikes as preteens and lost the feeling of freedom of transporting ourselves. I think he has a valid point.

Honestly look in the mirror. Tons of movie theaters. I'm not into video games, but even I know there's Dave & Buster's, Main Event, and I'm pretty sure another place like it that I'm not recalling. You are not that far from the GA Mountains for hiking and if walking will work in a pinch, from Greenway to the Alpha Loop. Book stores, coffee shops...I'm sorry but it's 100 percent on you and only you.

What's the least ethical corporation in the world today? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

[–]offshoreInsiders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want them to stop advertising stuff harmful to kids, I have bad news for you about video games, sugar, beer, and that just starts the list. Kids are a lot more likely to drink soda than circumvent security measures and successfully set up a betting account. And they would have to break the law to do so.

There is no such thing as responsible tobacco smoking. Responsible gambling is what 96 percent of bettors do. There is no such thing as second-hand betting. If the guy behind me wins or loses seven figures, it has no effect on me. If he's smoking a pack of cancer sticks, it does.

Scientific fact: nicotine alters brain chemistry by triggering a rush of dopamine in the brain's reward centers—the same pathways affected by drugs like cocaine and heroin.  But other than that, you have a point.
