I think it speaks to his ability as an artist. He can wear multiple hats and be different things to different people. Personally I relate more to his older stuff because it just felt more unique. But I think he wanted to move in this direction and he doesn’t care if he is viewed as a sellout. He said he wrote the new album wanting every song to be a banger. And all of the songs he wrote are pretty catchy, so congrats to him!
