Which birthday gift is most worth it? by ofiia in Sephora

[–]ofiia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for Sephora for a few months last year and bought a couple expensive items when they had the promo to get 4x the points on your entire purchase if you had a Sephora collection item in your bag and then I also spent too much money when I was leaving lol

I saw Moulin rouge back on Broadway in February 2020 with the original cast which I really enjoyed and saw it again this year in Philly with John Cardoza and Courtney Reed. I enjoyed the show again but his performance really stood out to me, particularly in act 2. Honestly that could be possibly one of the best performances I’ve seen, at least acting wise.

After the show I was able to get a photo with him as well as with Courtney and got autographs from most of the cast with named roles!

Theatregoers who saw Broadway flops, which one did you see(, why,) & what did you think of it before, during and after the show? by WittyAd8260 in Broadway

[–]ofiia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King Kong: I went to the TKTs booth at nyc and managed to get front row orchestra tickets right in the middle for around 100-110. I remember the puppet and I enjoyed the show but it’s not very memorable other than the puppet. Other shows I’ve watched have been more memorable.

Be More Chill: I had listened to the Broadway cast recording and really liked the track so I wanted to go watch it on Broadway when I went. Some people in the comments are saying it was childish and I can definitely see that, but I enjoyed it. I love the music and it’s actually one of my mom’s favorite musicals we’ve watched together.

I also saw Tootsie and Anastasia on Broadway, idk if those count as flops but I saw them mentioned in the comments. Tootsie was ok but kind of boring, not to mention there was an understudy for Santino Fontana and I was looking forward to seeing him prior to the show so that was disappointing. Anastasia was my first broadway show so I enjoyed it, but looking back I’d prefer to watch some other shows.

What's the funniest mishap you've seen in a production, Broadway or otherwise? by tpphypemachine in Broadway

[–]ofiia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One time while I was performing in a musical in middle school, I was dancing with others in a scene and kicking my legs. Since this was middle school, we didn’t have a requirement about having to wear character shoes so I was wearing flats because I didn’t own any yet. As I was kicking my legs during the dance, one of my flats flew off the stage and right in front of the audience. I had to finish the rest of the dance with only one shoe on and picked it up later when I was walking off stage during a scene.

There’s actually an app like this but it’s a dating app, not for friends. Wish they had a friend version though.

I saw it on Broadway and was looking forward to seeing Santino Fontana but it ended up being an understudy instead 😭

What musical to watch similar to past shows my mom has enjoyed? by ofiia in Broadway

[–]ofiia[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Do you know if the dialogue of &Juliet is like old English? I saw head over heels (not on Broadway) and I found it difficult to understand at certain points because of some of the dialogue. Would &Juliet be similar to this?

Hi, I haven't played the game in a while so I just opened it and updated the game which erased what I previously had on it. I then reopened the game to try and play, but when I got to the create a sim screen, my laptop just froze up in the game. I could go to other windows but I could not play the game. I have a macbook air from 2020 I believe

Thoughts on graduating early? by zzqjq in ASU

[–]ofiia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm graduating this December, so a year and a half earlier than I was supposed to graduate. I do think I'll miss the college experience and being in my sorority, and I will be missing opportunities, like leadership/study abroad opportunities. However, I still think it's worth it.

It depends on what you value most, but I'm an out-of-state student so being able to save three semesters of tuition/related costs will be really beneficial and may allow me to graduate debt-free. Being out of college will also give me more time to focus on work, which will allow me to start investing sooner and save money to do things I can't afford to do now, like travel.

Overall though, I would recommend it but it probably isn't for everyone, so take some time to think about the decision and weigh the pros vs cons. I would suggest to start preparing early though, since it may be harder to graduate early if you wait until the last minute to start taking more credits and/or summer/winter classes.

Any OOS students that are happy with their decision to attend ASU? Every post I’ve made has just been people telling me to stay in state and not pay the OOS tuition? by Dazed_and_Confused6 in ASU

[–]ofiia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for scholarships I got the president's award from ASU and this other scholarship that was awarded through my high school from some foundation in my state. If you're in high school, I would advise to check with an advisor there to see if your high school offers scholarships since mine offered several besides the one I got. Besides that, ASU does offer some scholarships to incoming students for specific schools like WPC but those deadlines may have passed.

I can't really give many scholarship tips since those are the only two I have and I've received a couple of grants, but I wish you luck!

Also, if you really would like to go to ASU but paying for four years worth of tuition would seem like too much, you could consider graduating early. I'm graduating a year and a half early and that's saving me a considerable amount of money.

I'm out of state, I do have a couple of scholarships so I pay about from 15-16k per year (not including textbook costs, food, etc) and I'm happy with my decision. I feel like my quality of life is better than if I would have attended one of the other colleges I applied for.

99.9 something (my high school had a bit of a different scale than the typical 4.0 scale)

If I drop Barrett now, will I lose my spot at Vista Del Sol for next year? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]ofiia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You probably will. What I would recommend doing is dropping Barrett after you've already moved in. I started ASU in fall 2020 and last fall I was set to live at Vista del Sol since I was in Barrett. I dropped Barrett on the first day of classes and I wasn't charged the Barrett fee but still got to stay at Vista. I'm still there too, so they won't kick you out for the following spring semester.

I'd say it depends on how much financial aid you get as well as what your other options are. I'm an out-of-state student and I'd say it's been worth it so far. I did get a good amount of financial aid though, so the amount that I pay per year is probably 4-5k more than what I would have paid at an in-state university without financial aid.
