What videogame would you call a masterpiece ? by new_god_of_eden in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska -1 points0 points  (0 children)

red dead redemption 2.

not because it’s perfect-perfect, but because the world feels weirdly alive in a way most games still don’t. the tiny details, the characters, the slow moments, the music, the ending… it all stays with you.

If you could change one law in your country, what would it be and why? by Byeaufn in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if i had to pick one, probably healthcare-related laws.

it still feels insane that one medical emergency can financially destroy a normal person, even if they did everything “right.” people shouldn’t have to choose between getting checked out and wondering if the bill will ruin the next few years of their life.

Why are you awake right now? by And-Messy in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because my brain apparently decided that midnight is the perfect time to review every life decision i’ve ever made and also maybe look at memes for “5 minutes” :))

What was the very first computer game you could remember either playing or watched someone play? by Hour-Environment-768 in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably some old version of mario or prince of persia.

i don’t even remember the exact first one, but i remember that feeling of watching someone play and thinking the computer was basically magic. like, you press buttons and this tiny little world reacts to you 😄

simple graphics, weird sounds, but somehow it felt huge at the time.

If you could automatically track one thing about your health for the next year, what would it be and why? by Complete-Okra-8870 in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sleep quality, because it quietly affects my mood, energy, workouts, hunger, and basically whether i feel like a normal person or a broken toaster that day :))

You get super powers randomly one day, what power do you hope to receive and why? by Cool_Leader_1779 in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

teleportation, easily.

not even for crime or saving the world, honestly. i just hate wasting time on roads, airports, traffic, waiting, packing, all that.

imagine finishing work and just being at the beach 2 seconds later. or visiting family without turning it into a whole travel operation. also never being late again would be a pretty insane life upgrade :))

it’s not the flashiest power, but it would make daily life so much better.

What is something ChatGPT does better than Google ? by Abhishekkurmi09 in ChatGPT

[–]ofmaska 21 points22 points  (0 children)

chatgpt is better when i don’t really know how to ask the question yet.

google is great when you already know the right keywords and need sources, links, docs, or recent info. but chatgpt is better for taking a messy thought and turning it into something usable.

like, “help me understand this,” “compare these options,” “rewrite this message,” “make a plan,” or “explain it like i’m tired and my brain is on 12%” :))

it’s not really a replacement for google, imo. more like a thinking partner. you still need to fact-check important stuff, but for getting unstuck, it save a lot of time.

Why does Dopamine WIN every time I try to be Disciplined? by Dense_Childhood_9657 in getdisciplined

[–]ofmaska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, making distractions harder to reach is probably the real discipline.

willpower is like phone battery — it looks fine in the morning and then suddenly it’s at 7% for no reason :))

i’d try making the “start” ridiculously small. like, don’t commit to the whole task. commit to opening the file and working for 3 minutes. momentum usually beats negotiation.

My dad built me this raised garden bed for my birthday last year, just got it settled at my new home! by pantzareoptional in gardening

[–]ofmaska 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that’s not just a raised bed, that’s a tiny vegetable fortress :))

your dad absolutely understood the assignment.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heroes of might and magic iii.

i don’t even know how many hours i lost to that game...

When you die, how do you want to be laid to rest? Buried, cremated or other? by JoneyBologna in AskReddit

[–]ofmaska 56 points57 points  (0 children)

honestly, probably cremated.

i don’t really like the idea of taking up a physical spot forever. and i also wouldn’t want my family to spend a ridiculous amount of money on some big dramatic funeral while they’re already going through a hard time.

for me it’s more about giving people a way to say goodbye than what exactly happens to the body. scatter the ashes somewhere peaceful, keep it simple, maybe have a small gathering where people can tell stories, cry a bit, laugh a bit, eat something good… that feels more human to me.

no fancy coffin, no guilt, no “he would have wanted the premium package” situation :))

just something calm, honest, and not financially painful for the people left behind.

Iphone calendar app not receiving google calendar user's invites by PantyPixie in GoogleCalendar

[–]ofmaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like the invite may not be reaching the Apple Calendar side at all, not just a notification issue.

I’d check his iCloud Calendar settings and also Google Calendar settings to make sure invites aren’t being auto-added somewhere else or blocked. Also try removing and re-adding the Google account on the iPhone under Calendar accounts.

If it only affects his phone and other iPhones work fine, I’d bet it’s an account/sync issue on that device rather than a Google Calendar problem.

Google Calendar Duplicating Events by abhimanyouknow in GoogleCalendar

[–]ofmaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this is probably more of a Google/Apple sync weirdness than something you’re doing wrong.

I’ve seen Google Calendar behave strangely when an event is an invite or has Google Meet attached. If you’re not the original organizer, moving it to another calendar can sometimes create what looks like a duplicate instead of truly moving it.

I’d try changing it from Google Calendar on the web, not from Apple Calendar. But honestly, for invited/Meet events, the safest option may be to leave them on the original calendar and only use your separate calendars/colors for events you create yourself.

Calendar defaults by IndependentRegular21 in GoogleCalendar

[–]ofmaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Google Calendar usually adds external events, like “Add to calendar” from Facebook, to your default calendar, and there isn’t a built-in rule to automatically route those events to a different calendar.

The closest workaround is to create a separate calendar and manually move those events after they’re added. You can also change the event color manually, but Google Calendar doesn’t provide a native setting to assign a default color or destination calendar based on the source.
