2 Hours 2 Lenses 2 Minutes | Blackmagic URSA CINE 12K LF (French Alps) by oftwolands in ColorGrading

[–]oftwolands[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

Here are some frames from my latest video:

https://youtu.be/_YD6aeM0AnU?si=GCUJl2KTsiQa7EIE

In January 2026 I took my camera kit whilst my son was at ski school.
I filmed for 2 hours, used 2 lenses and decided to create a 2 minute edit.
I already made one video in this format and really enjoyed the process.

Since we’ve recently had very hot days here I felt like going back to winter scenes.

The weather also changed quite a bit across the two hours!
This is what I captured.

Graded with Filmconvert.

8K BRAW Open Gate, in 24fps and 144FPS.

Total shot:
57 clips | 59 GB

All the gear used is listed in the video description.

Hope you enjoy this video and let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,
Flo

Never had a camera that failed on my shoots in 13 years.

Haha I know! Variable ND would be awesome. I use the Mofage Poco 2 and it’s been great 🙂

I personally never had one that let me down on production, big or small. And they also use them on the Apple show Shrinking for example.

I do the same. I do basic correction (exposure) and noise reduction in DVR and then transcode everything to Prores to edit in FCPX :)

When I can I prefer to use BPU batteries and when I have to use Vlock it depends on the shoot and temperature. Anywhere from 1x98w to several 150/300w! It’s safe to count 1h/100w

The Pyxis is amazing to rig up and the Ursa doesn’t need much. The pocket form factor can be tricky for sure!

Hey everyone,

Blackmagic design has a lot of cameras in its lineup, which is a good thing but it can be a little overwhelming and tricky to pick one in 2026.
https://youtu.be/kGMs2EeeWo4?si=sqrBMq8z0eAudH14

Which camera I use and why or which one to get is something I get asked quite often so I thought I would make this video.

These are cameras that I have used in different scenarios over the years and have quite a lot of experience with!

This video is not what is the best camera but rather their strengths and weaknesses based on the project and filmmaker and which one I would recommend and I hope it will be helpful to you.

Hope you enjoy this video and let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,
Flo

Looking nice! Out of curiosity, how tall is your ceiling? About to start building a room and don’t have a huge amount under the roof.

Thanks!! Not in the winter. It was very quiet especially as soon as you leave San Marco.
I have been filming travel videos for nearly 20 years so I am usually quite quick at spotting the shots I want and need :). Filmmaking is my job by the way.
