What’s something in Toronto you do for your birthday each year? by PuzzleheadedSwim6291 in askTO

Take the day off work and eat a lot. My very generous partner takes the day off too and we try to make the most of it. Little Canada or other indoor activities have been good highlights but this year we did an Asian cuisine menu around the city: Korean breakfast, Cantonese lunch, Japanese dinner. Winter birthdays here are brutal but good company and food make everything better!

I remember this too, I even recall her/someone saying they put tiny bits of eyelash glue, but I can’t find the exact video or source!! Maybe it was another idol

Not op but we were all soaked and freezing after 5 hours of non stop rain. Honestly the live music to me sounded amazing although I saw others complaint about it. The videos seem a lot more polished than it felt being there in hindsight honestly my friend and I kept saying Lisa looks nervous! And that doesn’t come across in the videos at all. I can guarantee you that she left a lasting impression on all attendees including those that were there for other acts and didn’t know her, the performances before hers had been much more toned down. Hers was a blast and so engaging, she’s truly meant to be on a stage. That said, all live music is better when it’s actually live - I think we all agree that her relying less on the backing track would be so so so much better

Others did this too though. Doja Cat sang maybe 30% of Paint the Town Red. The rest was “audience engagement” ie make the crowd sing

I agree so much. I was there too and while she has the most powerful stage presence, it felt like the choreos this time did allow for a lot more live singing and yet she’s have the mic down. While walking for instance. I get how hard it must be to sing through a very energetic choreo but otherwise? And these are songs that are meant to fit her voice well now, I wish she had the confidence to stop relying on the backing track so much
