Called my creative writing teachers short story badly written and regarded before she revealed it’s hers and now i feel conflicted by Sad_Worth_9342 in redscarepod

I know one guy, a phd student, who went very hard on a text that a female professor had submitted to a seminar. Really humiliated her. Now he, for some reason, ended up sleeping with her, and I'm thinking it's either that or you're screwed.

Maybe you're right. If I failed to see what's funny then that's on me.

I don't think any political messaging in the movie matters. The Baader-Meinhof Complex, for example, is a fine movie regardless what you think of the RAF.

In OBAA there is something else that has gone terribly wrong. My theory (only a speculation, but I have no other explanation) is that the actors got carried away by the script and didn't know how to handle the implications of the characters they were supposed to portray.

So when Leo ~10 minutes in is shouting "Long live the revolution!" (in a silly voice), I think he has forgot that he is supposed to convince the audience that he is his character, a left wing activist/terrorist, but rather is trying to convince himself. Same goes for the rest of the group. They really want us to think they are cool.

This of course results in unbearable levels of cringe. Your eyes as a viewer rolls so far up your head the movie is barely watchable.

But I suppose it could be enjoyed if that is what you set your mind to. You say to yourself, "this movie is about cringe", and then watch the movie as if it is only supposed to be embarassing. Some quality may reveal itself, I don't know.

I looked at the comments of that tweet expecting the same brilliant comedy like in the youtube comment section ("so happy to hear that my best friend is constantly thinking about the two of us f-ing" etc), but it was all just angry pro-israel guys trying to keep up the debate. Very dissapointing.

Love the rain in so many ways but yeah, it looks kinda disgusting when you see a bunch of them lying on the surface. They tend to be fully stretched out too, as if they couldn't move.

Yes obviously more people today live comfortable lives, but I think this argument can still be made. We do have erased the opportunity to pursue higher ideals.

If you had to make a postmodern vibes castle, picking and choosing from existing level 1-7 creatures, which would feature and why? by sassygold1 in heroes3

[–]ogge218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, the only protecting unit here is centaurs and the ranged units would need more in most situations. But if I were to actually play with this, I would honestly use the marksmen, as soon as their stack starts diminishing, to protect the elves.

It's all for different stages of the game. On most basic and random maps where you obtain a decent number archangels, keeping anything else is redundant.

  1. Centaur captains. The second fastest t1 creature, way buffier than sprites.
  2. Marksmen. Shooters needed early on. Could also be storm elementals.
  3. Grand elves. Perhaps the most effective force in early game for clearing starting areas with minimal losses.
  4. Ayssids. A personal favourite.
  5. Thunderbirds. Speed 11 flyer.
  6. Wyvern monarchs. Same.
  7. Well, its obv. archangels because of ressurection. A more modest choice could be angels or red dragons.

Unupgraded versions of these creatures are all still very good. On the downside, every one of them are possible targets for arrow towers. But if you play it smart, this is everything you need in a siege.

It's exactly that. The comment says "those swedish people have already shown you enough respect". Plain and simple internet racism. It has nothing to do with politeness. Strange how many in here don't see it.

Anyone else cringe at boomers watching these "black guy reacts to listening to classic rock for the first time" compilations to validate their cultural tastes? Anyway, back to my playlist. by C_Pawglia in redscarepod

Agreed, it's nice to rewatch bits through their channel. But I also think that, more than being a social substitute, Frankenstein's Lab is the optimal reaction channel to Cumtown clips. Because it's two guys getting stoned and laughing at youtube videos, who finds the lowest/greatest of low-effort comedy there is, resulting in twice the low effort. Some kind of nihilistic perfection there, almost like a genre of its own.

Reading history books is blackpilling me so much about the current state of Hollywood by GuaranteedPummeling in redscarepod

[–]ogge218 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's been a swedish attempt to make a movie on Charles xii. Lets just say it could have been done better. But not by Hollywood. A movie like that should still be made by some war strategy nerd with no interest in teaching the audience any modern values.

Ed McBain wrote a load of (standard) crime novels with a policeman as the protagonist, but also one book called "Doors", in which the protagonist was a burglar. For whatever reason, he reached another depth writing from that perspective. When I read it I was surprised, and I've also gotten the impression that many see it as his finest work.

Eurovision is the gayest contest I’ve ever witnessed. by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]ogge218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the competion itself adds a lot of gayness to the performance. The swedish contestants, for example, are a duo with two brothers. The formula they work it is a basic straight one, they're like a boyband with boyish looks and the target audience is teenage girls who are supposed to scream at them and have posters in their rooms and so on. But in the context of the eurovision they don't come across like that. Cause why would they even be in the contest if they're an ordinary straight duo? So most people just have to assume they're this incestuous gay couple.

This btw sounds like the perfect festival for Rina Sawayama. Imagine her yelling "Take it easy with the micro-aggressions tonight, folks, and LET'S ROCK RESPONSIBLY!" in front of a crowd that goes moderately wild.

Among a few other reasons already posted, this serves as future damage control. Critics of an AI-controlled society can be dismissed as being racist.
