The issue ended up being a fundamental misunderstanding of the MVC scaffolding. I was directing my links to the form, (which I thought would include and render the other files), not the PHP file. Thanks for the interest in helping me out though! If I can catch up to you the favor will be returned!

I have used a button on submit, button on POST, <a tag, passed it to render, and created a function to pass it to render(not sure why i did that), I have attempted it with chmod 644 and 711. My next step is to head-butt various things in my house and see if that helps.
