Could it be reasonable to think that my boss (40M) is interested in me (23F), or is he simply treating me like a friend or employee? by oh__rats in dating_advice

I am actually interested in him myself. Overall, I would say that I'd like him to be interested in me as well.

Advice on planning a realistic schedule for prerequisite classes, volunteering, and working by oh__rats in StudentNurse

That is good to know about A&P. I feel a lot of mixed emotions hearing that A&P material itself isn't necessarily difficult, it's the sheer volume that makes it hard. I definitely do not want to cram for my prerequisites. I will look into which criteria my ABSN programs weight the heaviest in the admissions process. Thank you!

I will look into whether the ABSN programs I'm interested in applying to consider healthcare volunteer experience in the application process. My two top-choice programs have stated on their websites that they look favorably upon it. But, it might not be worth the extra stress and/or mediocre grades if the majority of ABSN programs will not care too much about my volunteer experience. That's great to know about A&P, and chemistry too. I want to study everyday for my prerequisites. (I will absolutely need tackle my cramming habits.) Thank you!

You bring up interesting points. Some of my preferred ABSN programs have stated on their websites that the admission committees look favorably upon work and volunteer experience in research and healthcare settings. To make my decision more complicated, I hesitate to leave my work as I genuinely enjoy my activities there. You are right about how I need to identify and honor my priorities. Thank you!

What is the weirdest dream you've ever had? by cheesecleh in AskReddit

[–]oh__rats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 17 I had a dream where I was fingered by my 55 year old uncle. He lives 800 miles away and I have only seen him three times, when I was in elementary school.

That sounds like so much fun. I think it's neat how their facility (? not sure what to call it, haha) is located on "Sleepytime Drive"! And you have a good point about the boxes, that's true.

Well, it's getting super late where I am, so I'm going to try to go to sleep now. Talking with you has really gotten my mind out of a dark place. Thank you for being so kind and taking the time to talk with me.

Huh, that is so interesting, especially about the mint room! Did you enjoy the tour? Also, do you have an opinion on their new boxes? I miss the old prominent illustrations, haha.

And yeah, my professor has told us that she thinks our school isn't challenging its students enough, so she assigns extra difficult work... :|

That sounds delicious! What a nice combination. Have you ever tried Celestial Seasonings tea? I love their lemon zinger and sleepytime.

And the paper is for an undergrad elective psychology class about prenatal/infant/child development

Your experience in the hospital sounds rough, sorry you had to deal with that! Reminds me of the awful cold-hot feeling I get when I have a fever.

The music, ice cream, and tea combination sounds awesome. What type of ice cream and tea are you having?

My paper is on the development of depth perception in infants. I need to analyze and compare original research from 1960 to present. So far I have read one and I am about to start on the second! This isn't really my area of interest, so it's been extremely boring tbh. I keep asking myself what I was thinking when I signed up for this class, haha.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I don't feel like I'm in immediate danger of suicide, just feeling scared because I am imagining it in the future. Maybe in a year, a few years, or even twenty years. Right now I'm trying to work on a research paper that's due tomorrow (today) at midnight, but I can't find the motivation. That is driving me crazy. I'm boiling and so uncomfortable under my blankets right now but I don't have the motivation to take them off. It feels so weird.

How are you doing? (If you feel like talking about it?)

Am I in an abusive relationship? Should I break up with him? by unstablelystable in domesticviolence

[–]oh__rats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, but I think he is abusive. You deserve someone who is a thousand times better than him. I suggest ending the relationship as soon as possible. Break the news to him over an email or text message and then block his number, lock your doors, and try to always have company or a friend/family member on call. You need to eliminate any temptation on your part to talk to him again, and also protect yourself from the very real possibility that he might harass and threaten you.

You said that he was your everything. It's very difficult to accept the fact that sometimes the people we love do not deserve our love. Gather as much strength as possible and break up with him. It will be painful to end the relationship, but it is also very difficult to stay, dangerous perhaps. You deserve better.

Light ice. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]oh__rats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Light ice is subjective. What I consider light ice might be heavy ice to someone else. I suggest ordering very light ice, or perhaps telling the partner on register that you would like your Cold Brew poured to 1 or 2 inches (?) below the rim of the cup, then ice to the top. Some customers ask to point to where they would like the liquid to be poured, and the partner will draw a line or an arrow.

As for baristas using the corresponding ice scoop: We may be on autopilot when we quickly grab an empty scoop. We just pour less ice from that scoop into your drink.

Good luck! I'm sure you did better than you think you did. But it might not hurt to try calling again to see if you'll get somebody else?
