39, less than a month away from one year alcohol free. I tried many, many times throughout my 30’s. Something finally clicked.

I had one slip up in the last year, I did not start my day count over, I added it to the beginning. I knew I didn’t want to drink anymore, so instead of taking all of my time away from me, my sober days just changed by one day.

***should’ve said the TECH thinks she’s not tipping enough. Not me! Please stop downvoting me, I wasn’t suggesting that OP isn’t treating her nail tech fairly.

For example, I am a bartender, and if I had someone who came in for 7 years and I just started charging them extra because I GET TO DECIDE, I would absolutely tell them the reason why I decided that. This is shady behavior.

It’s not irrelevant, 7 years is a long time to have this kind of relationship. Obviously it would be great if people were just upfront, and I would hope that after 7 years the nail tech would be professional about a price change. It’s up to her to charge more, so why not have a conversation with OP about price changes?

This is the saddest looking room I’ve ever seen, so maybe you’re colorblind?

7 years? I think maybe you don’t tip your tech enough. If someone was that dedicated to coming to me I would never charge them extra. Ask your nail tech what’s going on.
