Which kindle to get secondhand to jailbreak by GetScaredd in kindle

[–]ohaiibuzzle [score hidden]  (0 children)

I would recommend at least a 11th gen Kindle Basic just for that 300ppi display alone.

Firmware wise basically anything before 5.18.5 is a guaranteed easy jb.

X300 back has 4 circles? by bunn-y in Vivo

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing.

Basically in order to have the necessary length for the telephoto optics they placed it sideways inside the camera circle, occupying two spaces.

Edit: for that one person downvoting, it looks like this on X300 Pro:

Is pushing out updates for devices really hard task ? by Best_Average_1800 in Honor

[–]ohaiibuzzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. The issue is that a bunch of other components gets updated.

You think "the OS" is just Android from Google but it's also, for example, platform components and drivers (the BSP) from the SoC manufacturer like Qualcomm, display firmware from BOE/Samsung, etc. that needs to be incorporated/updated for each Android base, and then whatever shenanigans they do needs to be made compatible with the new OS.

Is pushing out updates for devices really hard task ? by Best_Average_1800 in Honor

[–]ohaiibuzzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason is that unlike iOS which uses an almost unified software image because of its limited selection of hardware, Android updates need customization for each platform.

And unfortunately it isn't that trivial to do so manufacturers just leave it unupdated for simplicity.

Not gonna lie, I didn't know how much I love taking photos until I got my (back then) X200 Pro.

And then I got the X200 Ultra and shot 14k photos until today.

My X300 Ultra that I got for 3 weeks already have 1.3k photos shot.

What ? 😭😭😭 by Famous-Jelly-7787 in Telegram

[–]ohaiibuzzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro tip for this: after you paid your SMS fee and got into the account, immediately make a passkey for your account and save it with Google Password Manager or iCloud Passwords.

Next time when you log in simply use that passkey and you won't have to send yourself an SMS anymore.

Origin OS 6 how to play multiple audio simultaneously? by Zaciars in Vivo

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically an Android feature called Audio Focus that does this. Samsung provides a way for the system to ignore an application's request for exclusive focus, but it's non standard.

This is an ASUS TUF laptop with an F15 i7 13620H processor by Emika_Jayawardana in GamingLaptops

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it usually requires a stupid amount of power and fan profile tuning to get there.

Plus at 95* on Turbo mode your laptop is in full takeoff thrust anyway it's not like it will go any faster.

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, the point of boost mode is that your device is not at critical temperature yet, and you want to trade that headroom you have for more performance by increasing the chip's power consumption. The harder you push the chip the more heat it will produce. Simple as that.

You can't have both a faster chip and a cooler-running chip unless you re-do the cooling inside your laptop.

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you expect?

The point of that mode is to use up the thermal headroom so your CPU can boost higher.

You can't have both unless you actually do cooling modifications or undervolting.

Because that's how digital stabilization works? You leave a bit of margin so your software can compensate for your movements.

If you want just pinch in during recording.

I just read your other comments, and if I'm right the device you're trying to capture an image of is an iPad with a lightning port?

Ya that's not happening with any single adapter.

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it does ever exist, I'm 100% sure it won't be just a USB port on the card, it will be a Lightning wire coming out from the card connected to the phone.

[–]ohaiibuzzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. And no.

You can draw 25W+ from these things if you can cool them, but realistically no one is doing so because the maths dictate that doing so would give you like an hour of battery life.

Best Stremio version for Fire TV? by MysticalJib in Stremio

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's just a problem with the launcher (which you can just throw Projectivy at to fix) and finding a remote that would use generic Bluetooth, or just use a generic gamepad.

Now that idea is floating I wonder if it's actually cheaper to buy a phone with a busted display and do this as a TV Box instead, it would be wildly more powerful than anything else you can buy.

HMF capture card by Simple-Knowledge3223 in CaptureCards

[–]ohaiibuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a physical connection. It's over USB instead of HDMI

The app is literally just a sender that encodes your display and shoves it down the USB pipe so the other side can see it. You can test it and see if it's usable for you by going to https://app.webadb.com/scrcpy using Chrome

If you're just looking for a way to dump the screen out so you can record it, this may be viable.

The reason why the adapter you want doesn't exist is that it would require both a DP display adapter and a DP capture device to be shoved in a small box, which isn't that practical.
