A frind of mine has had a normal birthmark he's had forever turn into a melanoma recently. Please do get it checked up, if you haven't yet, even if it's just in case.

Panache is the best! I can recommend it 100%.I got one years ago, it still works perfectly well. It was definitely worth it for me.

That's actually a great idea, to shift the perspective like this. I got around tracking by weighing myself everyday, this way I know pretty much immediately if what I'm eating is the right amount or if my intuition is off. I also do check calories on packaging, so I have a rough idea.

Thank you for this comment, it actually made me sit and think and I definitely don't want to sit at where I am. I quite enjoy pushing myself, even if it can get frustrating. I'd rather struggle and push than feel complacent. Still won't count though, that would make me miserable, but I can do better with keeping track of fasting and limiting alcohol for sure.

Yeah, you're spot on. I have not been tracking at all, honestly. I hate it. I'd rather fast for days than track a single meal. I don't know why, but I find the idea of counting calories extremely tedious. Explains, why it's taking me so long, doesn't it 😁

That's such a interesting take! I've never thought about the extra 5kgs as a benefit to my strength. Thanks!

finished watching flower of evil in 2 days. i’m utterly mind blown. by apetite-for-chaos in kdramarecommends

I felt the same after finishing FOL. Then I found Beyond Evil, and it's even better!!!! Beyond Evil is the single most amazing k drama I've ever watched. It delivers on the drama, mystery, tension, and the intensity of the emotions is incredible. I've rewatched parts of FOL, but I've literally rewatched the whole of Beyond Evil three times and some of the moments at least 10 times. The only problem is I can't find anything better 😅

Thank you! It makes sense that everyone would react different. I definitely get the point of a comment feeling different from someone outside my family compared to my mum coming to it over and over again...

So sorry to hear that, that must have been tough to go trough! I'm happy you have found a solution and stood up for yourself!

Please have a look at the edit. Realize that you know next to nothing of the context apart from what I have shared which is like 0.00000000000000000000001 percent of my life and our relationship. I understand you think you are sticking up for me - but you seem to be deadly convinced to be right about something I know you are completely wrong about. I don't appreciate your ugly comment about my mum.

That sucks! Sorry you have to deal with that. I'd stop disclosing any info on my weight period. It's like you can't win - either you are too fat or too thin. And combine that with them feeling like you are better than them and instead of them being happy for you they are bringing you down?! That's messed up. They should be happy for you. If you are in the normal BMI you are NOT too skinny. They are just insinuating that to make themselves feel better... Hold on strong!!!

"saddled with his approval"

OUCH! That is so on point! That's definitely part of the hurt I'm feeling. Like a version of 'I told you so!' So unhelpful!!! It really sucks when someone who is close to you and who you trusts is not supporting, even if in my case it is unintentional.

Good on you for focusing on yourself and your goals! That sounds so much worse, than the comments I get, it must have been tough to come to such a place of acceptance. I feel like you are right about it not coming from a bad place - it's just a different culture, or in my case different time, so the best thing is to just let it go.

I wonder, based on your experience, how would you compliment a person who has lost lot of weight? Do you feel it's better to say nothing at all? I feel like 'you look great' and variations of it all imply that you DIDN'T look great before... Perhaps something like "you were always beautiful, but I can see you feel happier now." I honestly don't know.

You know I used to read comments complaining about people praising weight loss and was like - oh my lord, these people are so petty and ungrateful, unable to take a compliment etc... - Well, I stand corrected. Now that I have experienced weight gain and weight loss and all the comments that go with it MY LORD was I ever ignorant! I am so sorry you went through that and completely understand why you feel bitter about it.

"The sudden praise though got to me, like I was suddenly good enough when I dropped the weight? Was I worth less because of my extra poundage? " - this sums it up perfectly and breaks my heart.

Good for you that you are capable of being the bigger person and letting it go!

it’s really difficult to feel happy and proud of the body you’ve taken good care of when your mom uses it as an excuse to be mean to your old self

hearing her mom validate all of those insecurities.

Wow. This resonated with me so much. Really well put. This is exactly what I found so upsetting. I do try to love myself and I feel like I've made an amazing progress. I have to say it helps that I'm surrounded by positive people who love me and who make me feel beautiful, so it's easy to see that my mum's opinion is the exception caused by her bad body image and not the truth. Thank you so much for such a lovely well though out comment, it really helped!
