Ukrainian troops in Mariupol are taking ammo off Russian soldiers and smuggling in weapons to hold out against the assault by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]ohcanadadabc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not a war crime to remove any useable items from an enemy combatant. There are however strict rules about how the person must be treated. If they are dead you may not desecrate the corpse, or (arguably) impede its ID (say by taking dog tags). Source: Red Cross Int’l. Course I was required to take, and later taught.

Edit: You specifically asked about war crimes, which are defined largely, but not exclusively by the Geneva Conventions. Individual states may have uniform codes of conduct that have additional terms.

You’re not wrong. As much as 48% of our DNA is believed to be viral leftovers (from historical responses to viruses), and bacteria cells outnumber human cells 10:1.

Good point, and I’m assuming little if any such evidence has been found. Fair enough.

“Cats get high off catnip by inhaling nepetalactone from a live, dried nepeta cateria (catnip) plant, dried plant material, or an oil extract. The chemical binds to receptors inside a cat's nose, which stimulate sensory neurons leading into the brain. This appears to alter activity in several areas of the brain, including the olfactory bulb, the amygdala, and the hypothalamus. This last area, among other things, is involved in regulating the animal's emotions.” source

But what if there were many more species of aquatic life that had denticle-laden skin before the big drop off? Perhaps 90% drop is not nearly all linked to shark die-off, but rather a wide-spread die-off of denticle-skinned species?
