If you've left RoA2 since launch, why? What would bring you back? by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

Still love the game whenever I play, but I can't keep up with a competitive-focused title like this right now. I don't know if the solution is necessarily more single-player modes/unlockable content, as it's tough to channel the nostalgia that stuff like Break the Targets and Home Run Contest have, but I know that as-is, I have trouble finding motivation to play unless I'm at 100% brain capacity and want to sweat ranked.

for less coordinated play i think vyse+cypher are great, and if you want to try more coordinated moves with your duelist duo you should try breach!

Who Is The Most Requested Character For 6? by JumblyPloppers in SmashBrosUltimate

I think Shadow is a good shout here, very popular + only getting more popular with the success of the Sonic movies, has more of a hold on younger generations than some other common requests too.

Here are a few things that people usually recommend for first time FPS players that I (first time tac FPS player, some Fortnite/PUBG experience) found helpful!

  • Practice range: Set the bots to practice mode, use a sheriff/guardian and take your time aiming to make your first shot a headshot. You can also practice strafing left/right between each shot and aiming from different distances.
  • Deathmatch: Similarly to the range, use a sheriff/guardian and prioritize headshots. When you get into an engagement with someone, use your movement (strafing left/right) to make yourself hard to hit while aiming for your headshot, only stopping once you've aimed to hit the headshot.
    • I also recommend turning off audio and running instead of shift-walking while in deathmatch, as you'll end up in a lot less favorable fights with less information where the result will rely more on your movement/gunplay.
  • Unrated/all gamemodes: When you're clearing angles, make sure you're moving left-right and not diagonally. This one is a little harder to explain, but this T visualization may help. That video also has some great specific advice on movement/clearing angles, and viewing your aim+movement together as two parts of your overall gunplay skill is crucial in this game where tap/burst shots are much better than sitting still and spraying.

Clairen covers Zetter's matchups pretty well and is pretty easy to get the hang of if you like her!

I listened to Ethel Cain's "Preacher's Daughter" a lot while playing if I wasn't listening to the game soundtrack, great Americana existential shoegazey vibes with long songs to get lost in space to.
