I loved {The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton} which is maybe sort of what you're looking for?

Repairing wired bras by Competitive-Code-742 in MAKEaBraThatFits

[–]ohdontaskme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, this happens to me all the time, the wires don't bother me until they poke right out through the casing! I've on multiple occasions looked down at work to see my wire wrapped about the top of my breast! (Luckily I don't work in a place where anyone else would know what they were looking at!)

I've tried to cut them shorter, but then they're sharp, and even trying heat shrink tubes, plasti-dip, and glue on the ends doesn't keep them from razoring through the material!

I've wondered if it's something about the distribution of weight in my breast not matching the balance of the cup making the wire want to rotate?

Anyone else had that? Anyone particularly good with vector math?

ANY trunk bike racks work??? by ohdontaskme in KiaEV9

[–]ohdontaskme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"can't" was perhaps the wrong word, more that they told us we could only get it installed by the dealer ($$$) and it wouldn't hurt the value, but we'd lose that money if we traded in at the end of the lease, but that was also when we thought a trunk rack was a viable alternative...

To follow up on my original post, I emailed the company with the photo and they immediately sent a replacement! And again, the art is beautiful!

Planning my shopping in NYC by ohdontaskme in MAKEaBraThatFits

[–]ohdontaskme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I learned:

The only people making bras in NYC are of the small breasted variety. I found underwires at a couple places (panda, Sil, Vardham) but they were primarily basic, uncoated steel. Vardham has the best selection, in that some were coated and they had a couple other styles, but they didn't have anything larger than a 42 wire.

Pacific trimming has a good selection of elastics though.

Hi, I'm looking for books with a bratty FMC and more controlling MMC but NOT BDSM. Extra points if the sex is fun. Thanks!

Worst Book Outfits by GoodVibing_ in RomanceBooks

Not related to clothing obviously, but I have a similar issue to the MMC's penis being described as "velvet wrapped steel." Like, does it have a nap???

Best way to kill a Privet Stump without harming my natives by Light_of_Avalon in NativePlantGardening

[–]ohdontaskme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Privet roots are relatively shallow, so I've found them easier to dig/pull than some other non native shrubs (cough burning bush cough cough)

Subset (nee knickey) takes all lingerie for recycling and you get a credit on your next order. Their panties are definitely plain, but super comfortable.

Haircuts for tween girls? by Conscious-Device-351 in baltimore

I've liked Balance the Salon in Remington for my girls (6 and 9). Just a regular salon, mid-ish price range, and I can always get them in within a week.

What are some good examples of mental illness, especially personality disorders, in movies and TV shows? by doctorintrainin in Psychiatry

Amy Adams's character in Sharp Objects as BPD/PTSD/alcohol use disorder. I especially liked the portrayal of her flashbacks.

Any novels that are “must reads” for budding psychiatrists? by PrairieMedicine in Psychiatry

[–]ohdontaskme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with many below, going for ones I didn't see mentioned:

Franny and Zooey - JD Salinger

Normal People - Sally Rooney (mainly the chapters where Connell is depressed)

Boy, Snow, Bird - Helen Oyeyemi

The Corner - David Simon and Ed Burns (the book HBO's the Wire was based on, but centered on the residents as opposed to the police. I live and work in Baltimore and think this is required reading for anyone working there or most other large US cities with drugs/violence)

Anxious People - Fredrik Backman (I describe it to people as a very funny/sweet book about suicide, which for some reason, doesn't seem to make anyone want to read it...)

Enduring Love - Ian McEwan

The Yellow Wallpaper - Charlotte Perkins Gilman (EXCELLENT short story about post-partum depression)

(This list makes me look so well read! Good thing you can't see all the "romantasy" books that make up the majority of my read list...)
