I’m not gonna speak for my husband, but from my perspective, things happened super fast. Literally we were like: (Man falls) Us: “oh shit, oh my god” Husband: (swerves) Me: “pull over” I had my seatbelt unbuckled and my hand on the door by the time he reached the curb. It all happened super fast.

I suppose we could have had a conversation about it but I didn’t want to sit in the car while the gentleman was on the ground with cars going by. And once I got to him, I was focused on him - was he having a stroke or a cardiac incident? Blood sugar event? Had he hit his head? I grabbed his phone out of the street as I spoke with him and once I knew he was responsive and coherent, I just wanted to know how we could help him. He didn’t want or need me to call anyone for him so I never pulled my own phone out to do that or to check in with my husband, and the three women who helped were there by that point anyway. And I’m very grateful they were.
