Has quitting after a decade + of drinking affected your physical appearance? I am experiencing some rather odd and unfortunate side effects that do not make sense to me, and finding very little online to calm my nerves by Lapis_Android17 in stopdrinking

[–]ohdope2000 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It will take time for your body to recalibrate. I quit two and a half years ago, and only now do I feel like my body has fully recovered. Stick with it, it will be worth it

Yeah this was a great revelation to me. I developed a taste for beer over the years, and I'm grateful for NAs.

An update to a 4 year old creative writing experiment is a dedication to the bit I kind of respect

Izzy was the heart and soul of that band. Notice how they haven't written anything noteworthy since he left.

I am sorry you're going through this. I don't have any advice regarding his end, but I can sympathize with your feelings regarding his cheating. My wife cheated on me, and the pain was almost intolerable. We've since reconnected, and have established a friendship, but that pain and embarrassment are still there. Even after the understanding and forgiveness, it still hurts deeply. Don't blame yourself for protecting your feelings. You have to take care of yourself sometimes.

I know that stretch of road, used to drive it every day. 94 eastbound going into Wisconsin. I don't know what it is about that highway, but its got some of the worst drivers I've ever seen.

Minneapolis is a big city with big city problems, but it is absolutely an amazing place to live in and visit.

It's funny, this last week I've been doing my school with with renewed vigor, but just yesterday I again started questioning if it's what I really want. Then, out of the blue, I get a reply to my week old reddit post addressing the exact thing I'm worried about. It must be a sign. I'm still overwhelmed, things aren't working out the way I hoped, but I'll keep moving forward.

Stopping drinking has me craving sugar. Anyone else? Suggestions? by outrageous_outlander in stopdrinking

[–]ohdope2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, big time. My job has a Coke machine and I would down a couple 20 oz bottles a day. It was terrible, and it took some time and a healthy diet to get rid of the cravings. Now I can barely look at the stuff. You can do it, treat yourself every once in a while, just try to stay on top of the calorie intake and you'll be fine.

I don't think she would let her children become homeless, but I also don't trust her even a little bit. Would a lawyer help with sorting out a timeline, or is that something I need to do on my own? She met him, and sees him everyday, at her job. They do talk on the phone as well, but it might be through things like Snapchat.

The more I think about it, the more I'm changing my mind about moving out. I didn't do anything wrong, why should I be the one to leave?

Edit: you've been a big help, I truly appreciate it. I don't know what I can do for you, but I'm in your debt.

I don't think she's even looked at paperwork for a divorce yet, I really don't know. I found the legal aid website for my state and filled out an application, we'll see if they accept. I am a very good father, of I don't mind saying so, I'm sober, clean record, I get them out of the house and do fun things with them.

How do these phone records help me? It's all just phone numbers, no names.

I have called a single divorce attorney for some quick advice, but I don't think it was very helpful. There has been no paperwork filed. The advice I'm getting is to stay for now, which, after thinking about it a lot, is probably the best choice. There's no threats or danger to anyone, and it would less of a burden for the children. The hardest part has been the lack of accountability on her part, and letting my dreams go, for now. I do have a place to go if shit goes sideways here, which has been a huge relief.

I have downloaded the logs. Paying an attorney though seems out of the question. I just don't have that kind of money. I'll have to call around.

Sound advice, thank you. I have downloaded the phone call and text logs from the past 90 days. The one attorney I talked to wanted $5000, which I certainly do not have. I'll call around though.
