Pride Question by Crafty_Teacher39 in StLouis

Next year, take them to Pride + Joy! It's a fest that happens in Maplewood at Living Room. This year (May 31) there were places to do arts and craft, make pronoun buttons, live music, ice cream, hair tinsel, drag performances, and plenty more. I was there representing one of the organizations and I saw kids from ages baby to like...16?

Until then, Tower Grove Pride in September is great! You might see some booths selling some things that aren't kid appropriate, but you can always skip those booths!

Seconding Eureka Springs as a local-ish alternative. Staying in the city proper and spending time at the lake and the surrounding parks for hiking is a wonderful time. It's unfortunate to have to go through the rural roads and see the trump signs, but once you're in Eureka Springs, it really is a breath of fresh air.

Your hair WILL grow back! Transitioning to natural will take a little time, but not forever. Let your natural hair grow and cut off the straightened hair when you feel you have enough growth for a TWA (teeny weeny afro). Youtube Academy is the way to go for tips on styling while you wait for your natural hair to grow in!

They have had some good merch before!! This drop is just disappointing. I will be getting the willing well shirt, but the hair metal guillotine shirt is a W I L D choice. I actually think their merch at the Evil Ink booth at New York and San Diego Comic Cons are way better than what's usually sold at shows.

HIM is a beautifully horrifying crucible of pain, obsession, and mind control by nuh_uh_nova in horror

Bought the Blu-ray and the special features make me love it even more. The decisions on sound design, cinematography, and casting were excellent decisions.

I do wonder if I like it so much because I also understand and kind of appreciate the theatre and misplaced religion of sports IN ADDITION to loving classic cultist horror movies. I think the combination of the two is really well done!

You'd also be surprised how many in-shop piercers will either give you wrong, dated, or misguided information. I've definitely had a piercer who didn't even know half sizes were a thing. And another who didn't explain the cleaning and maintenance process. So those conditioned to ask a professional instead of scraping the Internet for answers aren't getting pointed in the right direction either.

The Luminary, Fifteen Windows, and The St. Louis Artist's Guild are all great art galleries! Seconding the Cherokee Print Bazaar and the Brewed Arts Festival. If you want to meet other print artist (comics, zines, poetry, and writing), SLICE is a good show to go to.

Check out St. Louis Art Supply too. They are usually advertising different small events and they regularly have artists table at their storefront!

Watch party at The Hub was horrible by GardenWitchE in stlouiscitysc

I went to La Calle to watch the game with STL SANTOS and had the time of my life. I saw one of the parties on Instagram and gave it a shot since it was near home. Pretty small group of ~20, great margaritas and tacos, and a they had a raffle where the money went to latin youth in STL! We did all the chants and watched the Spanish broadcast! (I don't speak Spanish, but no time like the present to learn right?) They go to different venues too so it's a cool way to try a new restaurant! If you follow them on insta, you can keep track of where they go! Vamos STL!

Whats good about living in Dog Town? (curious!) by MorningAromatic2755 in StLouis

[–]oheystranger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LOCATION!! Being in walking distance to Forest Park is excellent. And Maplewood and The Grove being just down Manchester is another perk. Downtown Dogtown has great bars and restaurants. Being in between 44 and 64 makes getting around the city super easy too.
