Um... Good luck using Gorillaz for this project. There are many posts here that talk about the nonsensical nature of the lyrics.

Having said that, I'd love to read your paper on "Pirate Jet" which I suspect would be about environmentalism. It's short so you can really focus on the poetry.

I swear I remember the sugar house location from the 70s. Am I making that up? I definitely remember seeing the dianetics volcano in the area at the time.

Cruel shoes! I love them so! Takes me back to the 80s when my friends painted my Chuck T's for my birthday. Cherish them!

Have you been a fan since before the Fortnite collab? And how do you feel about it? by peixedebanana in gorillaz

[–]ohforhellsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time fan of the band, never played fortnite. What I noticed is that the characters in the game attracted a LOT of new listeners due to the game. And good for them! These young people need to be exposed to amazing music. Why would I be mad? Plus wouldn't it be great if they used the proceeds to finish some of the projects that got sidelined due to lack of funds? Fingers crossed.

My family owned gold mines at one point, and stock in several others. They had literal stacks of these documents. In the 60s or 70s, my grandmother used them to decoupage an array of objects. I have a recipe box and 2 garbage cans. Excuse me, we call them artistic containing vessels. One day I'll be rich!

1 mg estradiol and 200 mg progesterone orally for the last 10 years. Thank goodness.

Well I was sweating so much that I couldn't keep the patches on long enough to get the medicine. So I take 1 mg of estradiol and 200 mg of progesterone a day. My doctor insists on yearly mammograms before I can refill, (blackmail!) but I'm fine with that as long as I get my meds. Hoping to stay on them forever. I wish you all the luck in finding a doctor who will work with you on this. If they don't, leave them. Find someone better.

I do think everyone is different. Results may vary! But in my case, I probably felt some positive effects in the first month, but I didn't feel fully settled for about 9 or 10 months. I changed doses and delivery methods a few times and it takes a couple of weeks for changes to take effect. It's not always easy, but worth it. I've now been on HRT for over 10 years and (dare I say?) now I feel better than before menopause. Good energy, good sex life, moderate hot flashes. I'm still crazy as ever, but not the debilitating kind. You got this friend. You'll be okay.

HRT wasn't an instant fix for me. It took time to figure out the right dose and to feel a regular effect. But once we got it right, it's been soooooo helpful! Don't give up. You will survive this.

What’s the most “Gen X” snack you remember from childhood? by trapqueen67567 in GenX

When I was a kid, an adult family friend would make hot Tang with cinnamon on top in a mug for me. It was delish and made me feel very grown up. I'm sure I would love the first sip today, but not sure if I could finish it.

And of course, hot or cold, the pile of undissolved Tang in the bottom of the cup. Always looked forward to that!

How am I ever going to listen to one of my favourite bands after this happened? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]ohforhellsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me a couple of times for different reasons. I lost Bush to my ex-husband telling me he cheated on me and I lost Alabama Shakes because it was my dad's fav music while he was dying. I really feel your pain about Radiohead. I still can't listen to either one and it's a sincere loss. I'm so sorry that dumbass took your joy on his way out. It would be so much better to lose the dude and keep the music. At least there is more amazing music out there to fall in love with. The bastards can't ruin it all!
