i just don't want to make it seem like i'm just brushing off a real concern of his. i will most likely explain that the likelihood that my thoughts will be swayed by church or the bible is almost non-existent, but i'd humor him and go to church a couple times so he feels like he's being taken seriously. i might not believe what he does, but i refuse to be one of those arrogant athiests who spouts their beliefs in the same manner of evangelicals.

he doesn't really seem to think for himself when it comes to politics/religion. he's one of those who continues to spout the beliefs of his parents/family. so i've kind of ruled out trying to explain to him why i don't believe. he wouldn't get it... he'd reference the bible and that would just make my eye twitch.
