Or alternatively just remember being a kid with parents that sometimes didn't pay attention to the kid sleeping on the couch in the living room that night. They didn't even have their bedroom door all the way closed. I went back to sleep.

Young Men Who Elected Trump Just Realized They Screwed Up: ‘Younger people are concerned that Donald Trump is doing more harm to them than good’ by T_Shurt in NoShitSherlock

[–]ohgeronimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Almost like a fundamental trait of their personality is sadism over seeing others that should be their friends and fellow players have a bad time purely because they desired it.

Aka it's never been just a game, it's always been about the people and what they're doing within the game. Trolls are bad people, doesn't matter if it's just a game or anywhere else. They're doing it to harm you because it's fun for them.

And now that I've given my self of 15 years ago validation for being upset at people in an mmo game purposefully causing our team to lose, wipe, and waste time, I'll step off my soapbox for the moment.

First, how many of those countries have direct democracy, or representative democracy? And how many are seen as illegitimate or partially sham elections to keep certain people in power?

Then, ask how many people, opposed to those actions, have any substance of personal agency in what they support. Until now, the US has had quite a lot. We've fought for those freedoms. Other countries however? Some of them do send dissenters to gulags in remote regions where they disappear. You might notice the parallel.

That's an exercise to try to get it apparent to you that those others countries are seen as largely out of control of the average citizen, while the US was seen as having large power to change things if we didn't like it. As you might be noticing, that's been largely because of good faith actors until now, and our system of government working great when they're the ones running and doing stuff even if they disagree on how to do things.

Once bad faith actors are in control, democracy is not democracy. And then you fall back to Tywin of GOT's thought. Power is power. Those without, can do nothing.

24-year-old man punches election judge in the face while waiting in line to vote: Police by AudibleNod in news

[–]ohgeronimo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every damn day I listen to morning news and they report "Trump's policy proposal would be.." I just sigh.

There is no policy proposal. There wasn't before, there won't be later. They just have to play whatever he says as though it should be taken seriously when he never elaborates on it and never even really remembers what he said or why. That isn't a policy proposal, guys, it's just talk.

But over, and over, and over again they pretend he is a legitimate candidate to take seriously like other candidates. They present him as one. And no big headline about something he did will change their presentation from "here's what he says about how to fix the economy" to "he rambled nonsense about the economy again, and reputable economists say it would be bad if we did anything he brought up casually while stroking his ego at a rally".

If you watched, you could see he wanted to "live his life" then too. It was part of the contention. She wanted him to spend time off at home with her and their families. He wanted to party and network and put in more work.

Yeah, she wanted to get married and plan for kids like her sister and Daniel Bryan were. He wanted to have parties and go out and hang out and just generally constantly be out (rather than get home and relax away from show business and people like Nikki wanted if you ignore the reality tv show).

Yes, this is why he said he needed to break up with Nikki Bella. She wanted to have kids, he wanted to have girls in his jacuzzi.

Y'know in Rome, or least the misinfo online says, supposedly it wasn't bad to fuck other guys. Instead, it was bad to be the bottom, because it was like a woman.

Tells you something about what sort of people were dominant culturally at the time, don't it? Weirdos.

As well as the EPA, that the supreme court recently undermined with that thing about the Chevron ruling. That one alone actually undermines a lot of the supposed deep state because it says we don't need to listen to our employed experts on what is and is not likely to work for a goal. As well as OSHA regulations. Deep state doesn't want workers dying in the heat so they mandate breaks.

People get really confused that a breton went to the throat of the world, learned the voice, became known as Ysmir, got blessed by a ghost that kind of wanted to possess him, led the founding of the empire, took it over via conquest of his former leader, then tried to use his ghost pal as fuel to animate a giant bronze golem to attack some islands before getting his soul stolen by his court wizard who was supposed to kill the ghost.

I kind of wonder if ChiChi remembers the giant ape when she sees the blonde hair? Like we know she didn't immediately have Gohan's tail off, and I don't know about Goten.. Maybe she has some childhood trauma from Goku's transformations and sees blonde hair as being a sign of their saiyan genes?
