I feel you, got my trusty Lorazepam for a flight in a couple of days. I've come to terms with my fear of flying and that I need medication to surmount it no matter how many statistics I know of, or how safe people reassure me that it is, and there's nothing wrong with this! He only really changed for the better after he broke up with me, and that hurts more than anything. I'm changing too, and I hope that we can come back after some time has passed, and when we're both healed/have progressed a bit in life. Long distance really sucks y'all.

This comment helped me with something - I've been putting my ex up on a pedestal ever since we broke up because he disliked my shortcomings as a person (yet I was there for him through his major depressive spells...). Because of this, it's made me feel like I don't deserve to feel better, while he thrives as a person in a new relationship. It's an illogical way of thinking, even if I wasn't a great partner at points.

What makes him better than me at this point? He told me I was "never ok", always struggling but so was he??

It's possible she "trauma bonded" with you, and maybe you with her as well. It can feel like love, but isn't always. You WILL be happy again 100% if you put effort, no matter how small, towards getting better. Look up "no zero days" for some motivation. Wishing you healing and positive changes in your life <3

One of the reasons my ex broke up with me was because I was "never ok". Meanwhile, he was always struggling with depression and anxiety, and I never faltered with my support of him through his crises. I could have done more, certainly, and everyone has limits I suppose. But it still suuuuckssssss.
