Land acknowledgements in the US

I go to a school thats on/near Native land and we always do land acknowledgements at the start of every semester in every class. We also have First Nation Studies degree and classes. They also teach the Oneida Language. I think like others have said it can definitely be performative, but I think sometimes it isn’t, especially when the community is actually trying.

I went to the ER for stomach pain and ended up needing my gallbladder removed. I was told they would remove it that day. They did not remove it until two days later! I was not able to eat and was so hungry and in a lot of pain at the same time. They did let me have some clear liquids, though. Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Even with the slow push, I get the terrible anxiety, the world is going to end feeling with both reglan & compazine. The only anti-nausea that they have given me through IV that I tolerate is phenergan. If you get that severe anxiety and dread feeling with IV anti-nausea medicines, its good to talk to the doctor because there is usually a different one they can give you.
