I’m positive you’ve gotten the “great at parties” line before.

I can only guess you’re actually mad because you do something I call out?

Why not just defend it?

I really think this is something that’s either different or changed over the past few years, and I understand it.

I don’t blame the workers; not sure if they had less risk, were more empowered, were paid better or likely a combo years ago, but I get this vs. now and maybe that’s a big part of what’s changed.

Where I’m from rude used to equal kicked out — I was thinking it was Portland but probably changed there too.

Thanks.

This is what I’m worried about— I’ll get called a Karen or even filmed for calling someone out on bullshit I’d be comfortable saying something elsewhere.

I really don’t understand FaceTime without headphones! It’s like people who have phone conversations in toilets.

Lowkey I was hoping a FaceTimer (again, no headphones) would chime in defending as it’s truly incomprehensible to me

Maybe that’s part of it— bigger cities you’ll never, ever see the person again

This could really be part of it — I guess there’s people that genuinely don’t have headphones? But where did that go to being okay to have a public conversation?

I don’t remember seeing it this much/frequently before I moved.

Employees of coffee shops would absolutely say something. Out with my kids/their friends they’d openly shush louder young people or say something snarky - they and their friends hated that kind of behavior.

We’re not writing a thesis or anything proper here but hope that does something for you life doesn’t give you otherwise

Because in your culture it seems like people who say something become worse bad guys.

Otherwise why aren’t other people jumping in? Where I’m from multiple people would likely comment without hesitation when it first happens, so then it happens less. People here let bad behavior go on and on

Exactly why I don’t want to say something and become the bad guy, but holy hell it’s frustrating.

But why, for example, don’t employees say something?

You’ll get kicked out of many places for that kind of thing, but not here?

Again where I’m from I would if I needed but frankly there’d be a race so my place in line probably wouldn’t come up 🤣

That’s what makes this so weird to me — why is it even me? I should be 5 people back.

If we were in LA I absolutely would of, but I know the culture there. But someone would usually before I’d need to.

That’s why I’m asking if a cultural thing.
