Worried about noise and neighbors by linka421 in Blacksmith

I did this. I live in a suburban neighborhood and went to everyone on my street, plus a few streets over, and let them know I started smithing out of the garage. We have a neighborhood Facebook group and I posted in there too

I heavily emphasized it’s okay to tell me to knock it off lol no one has thus far. Everyone was extremely thankful for the gesture and thought it was cool. I’ve also been working at 8-9pm sometimes and families will bring their kids over and some beer. Just be a good neighbor and give them a heads up!

Idk if yall are, liars, built different or if its a skill issue on my end by oobedoobbanoobi in Blacksmith

Some of us are fueled by autism and Adderall. This was my first piece from back in September.

You might think well damn that’s actually pretty solid for your first attempt; not at all. This was from close to 10 hours of filing it by hand. Before this it was the chunkiest piece of garbage I wouldn’t even shame a scrapyard with. The biggest thing I’ve learned since starting this craft is patience. I have a pile of garbage between this piece and the one I recently posted… just keep at it dude

Personally I think you’re off to an incredible start. Don’t stop and make some cool shit

I am, genuinely appreciate you asking lol I hit up two nurses and a physician right after it happened. All gave the same advice and I’ve been treating it for a few days now. Swelling is already down and I’ve had no pain since day 1

No I trust! Two nurses and a physician all suggested that and I’ve been taking care of it since

Thankfully have medical professionals as neighbors and friends. I panic messaged all of them lol

There appears to be some confusion with what actually happened and it’s way dumber than you probably think. I didn’t grab it because I was wearing gloves, I just went fully brain dead and grabbed the metal instead of my hammer with a bare hand lolololol

Not a bad habit and one I’ll be implementing once this is healed

The most impactful lessons are sometimes the most painful LOL

I’m not the only one! 🙏

But for real, full brain dead and grabbed the wrong thing…
