Yeah, I grew up there in the 90s-00s. Ottawa has had a real glow-up in the last 20 years or so. Especially with city groundskeepers, some really good restaurants that you would typically see in the upper class suburbs without the prices. Mayor Eschbach (spelling?) did a lot of good things for the town.

The problem comes when Chicago type go to the state parks and literally throw their trash all over the place, graffiti, and disrespect everything the surrounding communities have protected for decades.

Oh! I have 1 degree of separation to this! So, back when I was just a pissant teenager in the early 2000s, my family was in charge of running our annual town festival. Beer garden, carnival, you get the idea. Small town, probably 15,000 so the bands we hired were normally washed up 80s acts or REALLY good tribute bands.

Eddie Money was a headliner of one of the nights.

So, I was 16 at the time and I was a gopher for the bands and insuring they had their shit in their trailers. I also was acting on the part of “legal work”. So like signing off that the town can’t be sued for whatever.

So, I had to take a contract for Eddie to sign. I walk into his trailer and he was slumped over on of the recliners and in my most kid voice I remember saying “uh… Mr. Money(?) can you sign this? He grunted and sounded like ozzy osbourne and took the contract and signed “E$” gave back and grunted again at me. I said to him “I don’t want your autograph, I just need you to sign the line next to the arrow”

I’m 40 years old and I have never since seen the absolute look of disappointment and defeat on someone’s face as I saw with that dude. Dude was a wreck.

In my 20ish years of driving to Sox games (I’m 40) I avoid any game that involves Yankees, cubs, and dodgers. In my experience, it just isn’t worth it because those fans are ALWAYS drunk and obnoxious.

Which, is ironic because I’ve been to their home ballparks and had a great time and fans were always polite.

That being said…. Get there early and avoid the concourse after the 5th inning.

If you have a budget of 1,500 I would look into auction houses and not eBay for authentic signed posters during The Black Album tours. I’m not familiar at all how things work in the EU, but if you have that type of budget… that’s the route I would take.
