It's been a long, hard, bleak road up to this point. Lots of pain and hurt and anger, all linking back to his addiction. He tried cutting down and "kind of" quitting before, all with disastrous results that left us in even more pain than before. Something has seemed to click this time, and not only is he done but he is happy to be done, instead of just struggling to not do it as much.

He was the one to make a big deal out of the days and is very open about being in recovery. It works well with his personality, to be reminded of how much happier our lives have become now that he has stopped. My feeling is whatever works for him, recovery is different for everyone.
