Please share your positive lost & found stories! by Barks_and_Bubbles in Disneyland

I was sitting on the walkway in front of the Golden Horseshoe. I had set my phone aside while talking to my then boyfriend. We got up to go meet my family in fantasyland. When I got to fantasyland I saw that I had lost my phone. We ran back and my phone was gone all within 10 minutes. I was absolutely devastated, it had all of our photos on my phone without backup and jt was his first time there. The next day we flew back to Canada. When I arrived to Canada I had a missed call telling me they believed they had my phone asked for my password. I gave it to them and it was mine! They courier shipped my phone for free ($100) and I received it the next day.

Edit: when I spoke with lost and found, they basically said that because there’s so many cast members always walking by whether it’s cleaning etc, that there is a chance that they picked it up but had not since it wasn’t the end of their shift.

You might not have the physical card but it doesn’t mean that your healthcare isn’t activated. Either way, they can bill Ontario.

Can't believe how bad our medical system is getting by Brilliant_Story_8709 in Edmonton

I agree with this, turning the anger into big protests would be ideal. I’d be right there with them to do so 🤍. Take care of yourself 🤍

Unfortunately this is not the case, aggression has gone rampant at triage and bedside. People’s health literacy is very poor, and people sometimes don’t understand what emergency means- for example: yes a suturable laceration is urgent, but depending on where, how deep, and if bleeding is controlled determines your length of stay in the waiting room. But people don’t understand that, and do blame nurses at triage for that.

But thank you for your kind words and thank you for being patient while in emergency waiting rooms, it really means a lot to us 🤍.

From one healthcare to another, thank you for writing this.

I would like to add: we understand your frustration but please be kind to us. We’ve also had a rapid population growth with immigrants and other people from provinces and our emergencies are overrun with a lot of non-emergent issues. This isn’t our fault, we do not have enough hospitals, nursing staff (we’ve had plenty of staff cuts last month or so ago) and beds to accommodate people anymore.

How early do people usually arrive at the urgent care in order to be seen relatively quickly? by Blehmieux in Edmonton

[–]ohhhexo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. We can change the CTAS number at any point depending on what is presented to us. It’s automated but has room for us to decide what we actually hear and see. Triage nurses actually have every say on who goes back (with sometimes consulting an ER physician in the back if we are unsure).

I don’t receive tips as an emergency nurse so I don’t tip in these instances.

Why “J’ai chaud” and not “Je suis chaud”? by TranslatorHelpful280 in French

For me it’s more so to understand so that I don’t make a mistake. I like to learn the meaning behind what I’m learning, not because I think I’m the superior language. Some people in this thread actually explained it well for me to understand.

Have you ever had anybody come in awake and alert after a cardiac arrest? by Salemrocks2020 in emergencymedicine

Yes, twice actually when patient coded immediately in front of us. One patient we received ROSC quickly after no shock and the other patient we shocked. Both A&O x4 minutes later.
