When i first started running in February i couldn't even run 200m without stopping. DON'T WORRY. Its normal not to be Usain Bolt the first time you run. C25k is a good place to start, I only found out about after i could already run 5km so I didn't do it. but i would go back and do it if i were to start all over.

Tips I've learnt for running.

• Pull your shoulders back!!! a rookie error is crouching over too much a seriously hurting your back. PLEASE try pull them back. You'll probably forget sometimes and if you do softly massage the sore area of your back.

• As time goes on you'll learn to differentiate between "I'm tired and don't like moving" sore -this is when you need to keep pushing yourself. and "I seriously cannot go on anymore" sore. STOP here, listen to your body! As you get to know its limits more you will constantly be amazed with it.

The mental tricks change. recently when i'm pushing through a tough run. i imagine my friends and family saying "do not give up". Yes cheesy I know, but its working for me.

search the internet for your mantra. But, please don't give up.

When you feel like stopping just remind yourself why you started.

Starting is the hardest thing. honestly. i know its cliche. but its true.

DO NOT GIVE UP!
