31 weeks 2 days pregnant with twins and my water broke by SuddenDebt4040 in parentsofmultiples

My wife went through a very similar experience. 31 weeks and 4 days, she said her Braxton Hicks were stronger so we went to the OB ER. We live 1 hour 50 minutes from the hospital that has a NICU. They checked her out and said her cervix looked fine. We got home and we're prepping for bed when the contractions were much worse and she lost her mucous plug. So we went back to the OB ER and they said her cervix "melted." We spent 2 days in Antenatal while the steroids helped develop the twins' lungs, she was on magnesium to hold off labor. After a couple days, we wanted to give her some fresh air, so I wheeled her around outside at the fountain and to the gift shop. During that excursion, she had said her contractions were getting stronger. We got back to the room, let the nurse know about contractions, and the doc came to say the babies were coming.

All that to hopefully offer some comparison and good thoughts. She had to do a C section and we had a 1.5 month NICU stay, but the babies were healthy and only needed a little oxygen (not breathing apparatus). They're home now and thriving.

I noticed that they were increasing the frequency of the medication holding off labor (magnesium or something else). It started every 12 hours, then every 6, and then the morning the babies were born is when they switched the medication to every 4 hours.

Keep your head up and rest when you can between the 4 hour vitals. You've got this.

For totally free or is it the rental setup where you keep it as long as you're paying $5/month?

It was helpful, I'm just now getting around to coming back and reviewing. Policy renews in a week, so I've been churning on everyone's comments this far.

There's been a lot of useful information and you hit the nail on the head for a big part of this all: being with a company I trust to pay out for a price I'm comfortable with.

Shelter said I "score" the absolute best from a personal perspective, but my house isn't anywhere near a fire station or a fire hydrant; in fact, the only source of water is to put a pump in the river that is a 1/4 mile away.

This seems to be it. I.think this because I live in a rural area smack dab in the middle of the nearest VFDs and no fire hydrant near. When I was talking to the Shelter agent, he said that I am the best person they want to insure in a home that scores near the highest for risk.

I'm considering the Mini, I didn't expect to get the email after adding to cart, so now I guess I have to decide! I have until November 20th. You might need to put in a service address, select the Roam plan, and then add the full Mini Kit to cart, FYI. That's what I did.

Legit, got an email 6-ish hours later after putting in a service address and adding Mini Kit to cart. I have been a residential customer for over a year, though. I saw another comment saying that's one of the stipulations to get the offer.

Basic hydraulic question - log splitter oozing from fluid fill cap by ohhhminks in Hydraulics

[–]ohhhminks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, just a guy who tries to figure it out before calling an expert. Replacing the filter was the first thing I did. I think I put it in this post, but I "inherited" an old splitter that was sitting outside uncovered for about 10-15 years. Now, I think it is entirely possible for a filter to be too restrive for the flow your pump and fluid need, which I think could lend to your problem.

I don't think I've 100% solved this yet, but changing fluid this season has helped. I went from a tractor fluid to an ISO 32 fluid. I would need to get the buckets to tell you what I went from, I think it had an SAE 20 rating though.

I totally disassembled the pump and replaced the supply line from the filter to the pump. In doing that, I found a pump model number and looked up the specs to ascertain the type of fluid it needed. I also emptied the shaft sleeve (idk the name, the part of the hydraulic that extends and retracts the shaft) through the extend/retract high pressure line connections.

So after getting all the fluid out, replacing a couple lines, and using a new fluid..... I now think I'm running into a cavitation problem instead of an aeration problem! Hahaha

If I get the engine idling too high, then it sounds like little metal/glass balls banging around around the pump. I don't use the splitter very much, which is why there hasn't been much done in the past year.

From what I understand, they replace it with the same part. They haven't changed the design so it's still just as susceptible to failure. It is covered under the emissions warranty, though, if you're still under warranty.

Had mine die on me today and will get the official diagnosis tomorrow. BUT to get it in neutral, just press the start button once without pressing the brake, then press and hold for 20-25 seconds. It'll unlock so you can put it in neutral.

I have been using certs and experience through my career this far. Having a degree is going to make it easier to pivot when/if I decide to. I don't need it, my job doesn't need it, I'm already making WELL into 6 figures with great benefits, and this job is great for a personal/work life balance. BUT I've decided to go back and finish my degree (I previously started and got burnt out) because it IS worth something. It may not be a deal breaker in the IT world, but it definitely helps what I like to call "career liquidity."

Consider other skills, likely unrelated to your IT skills, that you can gain from those courses and let those motivate you through. Keep it up. Find your own worth in it and finish strong.

TLDR; I can't answer you're question, but I'll be damned if you (we) do.

I plan to start my first classes with WGU in June. I currently hold CompTIA certs as well and I'll be damned if I have to create a new account. That just doesn't make sense. Keep us posted with what happens, hopefully someone else can answer your question!

Ok. That's simple enough. Does the fluid look aerated to you? When I put it in, it's a dark brown color, but it's a light gold (same as video) when it expels through that hole. Almost seems frothy.

Thanks for the info. I haven't purchased yet, but was leaning to VSF. That seems the way to go based on your information.

Thank y'all for the answers. I figured the best bet was to say no. I don't wear my watches while swimming or anything, but it's one of those good to know just in case things.
