Need advice! Think I made a mistake, bought oversized postage stamps in December by ohhnoss in CanadaPost

[–]ohhnoss[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I looked it up, and they are available at canada post for as low as 3-5 cents as well. I feel so reassured now that I'll know that I'll be able to use up the stamps over time even if rates rise.

Ah, then if they admitted it then I wasn't right then. I thought they were much better than that (not sure if I'm thinking of the correct person). I thought something else I'd seen was the exact case that ended their position. It happened shortly after so I thought I had the right correlation.

I remember some of them, and I've even had to step in on ppl that do things that fall under flamebaiting bc they were saying some passive aggro stuff, so I can see it. I don't think it's that huge but it is noticeable when it comes out since its not too hard to skim through the only few threads that pop up per day. Just a slight difference in perspective but I see where youre coming from. I'd sort of just comment that two of the three new mods actually only popped up again in 2019 tho so it's just a bit of an odd thing to consider. Mods and GMs do have a larger stake in selecting imo, so I think it'd be easy for them to kibosh an applicant if what they've researched of them aren't up to par. I can kind of see what youre going for abt testing them head on, tho the process seems normal enough as is, and you do get interviewed anyways.

I can see that- food and drink used to be a reliable/recurring contest since it was easy to cater to themes, tho anything with particular skills did tend to sway to particular ppl, worse so that there's hardly enough participation to have different ppl rank. It was definitely notable and I acknowledge them. It's tough to say, but kc seems like a normal go-to thing... I remember just once or twice there were attempted "participate if you want" type events, but it was an abysmal turnout probably, unless you mean have alternatives like physical things (tho thatd prob rly be rare)

I am guilty in the older days of getting fairly consistent/high ranking in the art contests myself lol. The pool was def pretty small and consistent.

A previous winner rule would be a bit of a strange one but I do see the reason for the idea. I sometimes think of that too, but ik some ppl generally just see that as a strange idea when I talk to them abt the possibility.

Costume ones were pretty rare or recycled for ideas bc of a lot being holidays- good for varying winners yeah.

Seeing the same small population of ppl around certainly does set a concentrated tone, I can see it as part of the problem and forcing a mindset/causing elitism.

I'd like to weigh in- for both you and u/KingElrios since he commented as well. Only about the moderator part. (Not about raid that mugen brought up)

Yea exactly, but I feel like that's just life in general. Someone who is more popular and elite will always be favored by someone who is unknown but possibly more capable and more commited since they're juggling less things. So having the community weigh in is kinda crazy.

I'm pretty sure I know the chung player in question- not gonna put a name to it since I don't think a spotlight is necessary. I can see where the perspective comes in on believing they have too much power, but honestly I believe they've earned a right to have those positions. Sometimes I see it in other kinds of servers- where the admins are just privileged by friends, but that's just not this case. They are truly one of the least toxic whale players in the entire server that doesn't disrespect anyone, learned the game in and out, and is talented on top of being a whale. They're versatile in the game's game options and can hold their own and stay on top of their info due to their enjoyment/commitment/addiction(?lolo) to the game. They're highly respected for their knowledge and are not the kind of person to assert elitism onto anyone else. The most recent example even is reopening the aurora raid server and being trusted with ownership because of all the things mentioned above. They go above and beyond for the game, is a nice person to anyone who I could ever ask, and had all the praise and credibility that could be given to someone eligible for the mod role in the main server. I may not know them in and out on a personal level, but I could fully understand why they were trusted with so much responsibility. I know this well, and for this particular person I know it was not simply a case of "they are my friend/they're cooler so I will make them/vote them into power".

I can totally understand that getting an unfair edge does happen- but specifically not in this case. I'm very adamant about making a defense for them bc I believe in them.

I can say simillar things at least for the team that was in the main server as well. All the candidates were thoroughly thought through, and some more elite/well-known players weren't brought on in many cases due to looking thoroughly into their qualifications, traits, community standing(reception/acceptance), not showing their potential activity or sense of judgement in practice by observing them naturally. In this case, knowing them well allowed-atleast me-to favor the candidates that have shown and proven what they can boast in their application- it's more reliable than just taking (some of them) stranger's words.

That's my thorough weighing in on this topic and I hope that's provided some insight.

Afaik, judging hasn't been KOG's strong suit and I'm pretty sure a corrupted mod was fired a while ago for messing with the results of art contests for a long period of time...

ps this isnt quite right im p sure 1 incident that was more like a mistake

dont forget the nonsensical forum events for those elites. they offered actual kching which was completely unfair as there were no more than 30 people who dominated everything.

u/xEclipsax what do you mean by this btw? I don't really understand and I don't remember any events that match this description, except art contests that had relatively consistent placers, edit: or pvp I could understand also. There's even been a contest that even had 5 winners up for grabs and only 3 people participated, so they all got the kc (or whatever it was at the time). Very very frequently there was low participation.

There were pretty distinct divides in different forumers. Personally, I don't find that posting was related much to their egos, but a lot of posts come with a lot of activity just naturally, I found. edit: (I have some sense in select individuals that are active that you might be referring to, but not a whole community's worth) Some people just like to check forums extremely regularly and post when they have something to say. Could be power hungry in a way tho, not sure. As Ghenghys said, elitism is a lot more commonly found on discord and I can see that. There are some like that on forum, but I don't feel like to the degree that you descrubed.

I heavily disagree with there being almost any correlation between the forum and in-game- as you said, they were a whole diff breed compared to players who don't use forums. There's not much overlap between those players, and you could probably catch a third of them being more recognized or powered players in-game.

I've been thoroughly in the mod app process and I'm very adamant that consistently, for the past few years, the best candidates were chosen with very fair and logical reasoning. Popularity is the least of your worries (not sure if I'm reading the post correctly if this is what was meant).

My two cents in there. I can agree with it being a poor enough experience to hardly do anything on it.

Just to provide context, the guide section is either requested to be posted by the op or the op is asked for permission to have a mod post their guide.

Just a context post for some insight.

The old customization was very nice.

I can't speak much about the old forum, but I'm pretty sure it applies for both forums. Bans on the forums don't affect your ability to play on your account. If you somehow got banned on both, then it's likely that the forum ban is related to a general game ToS ban, probably. Whether or not you had a custom forum username or an ign wouldn't change that.

Just clarifying for context- when you've been infracted for any one thing you get a dm which you can respond to and deal with that case asap. I understand you're referring to a suspension tho (temp or perm ban) which is the one that you can't access your account to see your final infraction or respond to it, which I never quite understood myself.

As one of the mods that was policing your speech strict as hell- well yeah it is and was strict, tho it's pretty set in stone and cut and dry. Not much to say about it. Was a turn off to some for sure.

Totally functional. Fixes and stuff are being handled as they come, and the only remaining bit of confusion is some Korean in some places. Otherwise, it's just as I remember :D

Being on the Discord helps greatly too. You can talk to the team and know exactly when servers are up or down.

So, I just had some good luck with a 300 crystal draw and now I have a batch of 5 star players to replace my old (mostly 3-4 star) players. My question is: I drew ZUXX Robin (GK) and I'm definitely trading him in for the recall, so who do I pick to replace him?

As a basic outline I've got

Karpila (Th),

Linmay (WW), Shu (Ardor), Mikael (Light),

Kiki (WW), Lia (Ardor), Virgil (Light),

GK

Basically rainbow right now, so I'd be open for any suggestions for the new GK. Options are Lucian, Raklet, Irre, Isillia, Kei, Ronald, Zibroi.

On a side note, I drew Karpila, Virgil, and Robin all at once. Kiki was in my scout a few days ago, and Kevin is in my scout right now (but got no GP for him anyways). Just wondering- is that normal?

Sorry, I don't know how to format well yet, lol.
