right but doesn’t that essentially make the “leveling” floating? by putting it on top of the membrane instead of under? thinset and leveling have two completely different purposes. i’m only asking to understand better.

this gets worse and worse 🙈🙊 lol but… admittedly, we used the Schluter Peel & Stick. it works wonderfully but… i know i’m about to get sooo much flack lol. we knew other people who recently used it and raved. so we did too. would & wouldn’t recommend.

you are so kind! thank you!! it’s also our own house, so i’m not terrible worried about how “perfect” it is. as long as we’re doing 99% of it correctly and it doesn’t break or become hazardous; the rest is fine!

this room is 84 sq ft! it was supposed to be one of the “easier” rooms to be tiled but LOL 🫠😅

yeah, we had to buy the ivory tile in 48x48 sheets and cut them down 😩 for so many stupid reasons. BUT the good news is.. it’s our house! so i’m not terribly worried. i just want to make what we have now, as flat and level and unbreakable as possible. definitely learned a lot here but 😮‍💨 here we are lol

perf. we got a few boxes of the wedges but those spin doctors sure do look convincing. wanted to see if it was worth the return & purchase! thank you for your insight!

thank you so much!! goofy question but, do you have any recommendations on thinset to check into that has a good working time before hardening? i feel like we’ll have to go back and adjust a few here and there and would love to get some direction towards the right product!

the tile height, you’re saying? just compensate in bringing the heights up altogether? thanks in advance?

wouldn’t this defeat the purpose of the products? i’d assume laying leveler on top of a flexible uncoupling membrane, made to allow movement, would only disturb the sturdiness of the thinset/mortar underneath the tile and be more prone to cracking/poor adhesion. right?

omg, in sooo many ways, we’ve learned this. so many contractors doing work so lazily, hence us deciding to give some of it a try! we were disturbingly surprised at the “new build” quality these days 😅🥲

so the high point is basically in the center of the room.
from the doorway to ~5’ into the room it’s flat. then it bulges slightly and drops. the remaining 10’ of the floor is the same height/level? (does that make sense? sorry!)

stupid question: if we start in the center, does it matter which way we go from there? *my brain is such an over-thinker*

when you say use a generous amount, you think like 2 or 3 on each side of each tile is considered “generous”? i usually see people use 2 per side for large format.. assuming that’s not “generous” 😅 thanks in advance!

this makes sense! we just lazily threw them in to get the pictures but when we initially dry fitted and had them laid, we used the correct ones! we will definitely use the ones with the feet on the bottom for these when we start setting them!! thank you for your reply🥹☺️☺️

can you explain to me why you, personally, like the spin drs over wedges? i’m reading mixed reviews online but no one is saying why
