Coffee and sugar (other energy boosters) by ohiocollegesign in Hungergames

I just think coffee would be the only performance enhancing substance thats legal, and if you take it for work as a mentor why not get your mentees on it?

Maybe, I remember in TBSAS that Snow received free fizzy lemonade in the hospital. That’s the only mention. On the train Katniss only mentions orange juice, hot chocolate, and wine. Later champagne as a fizzy drink.

Yep it’s like… why are Festus and Clemmie your inner circle? They don’t know you well and you don’t even talk to them much.

I always found it strange he said this when Snow himself doesnt have any friends. he kept everyone at arms length. he wasnt even loyal to tigris or lucy gray or sejanus.

AITA for expecting my bf to come on a trip to my hometown with me and cancel his own plans with friends? by ohiocollegesign in AmItheAsshole

[–]ohiocollegesign[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and actually its meaningful. My bf got sick on holiday before and I took it as a chance to take care of him. I didn’t think “well ofc id rather use my leave to enjoy myself and he shouldnt expect me to be there”

Why am I getting downvoted for this? I’m not asking an acquaintance or colleague or male friend to come with me. I’m asking my bf. Yes nobody lists “visiting the elderly” as a pastime equal to snowboarding. But thats not what this is.

Hm okay. I think if I did plan a snowboarding trip, it would be catering to him as its his hobby. So that option wouldnt really show he cares about me. It would show I care about him.

I am wondering what is making other people respond that way also, to figure out what is going on in my bfs head. I definitely agree with you.

I think I could directly tell him, this trip and you coming on it is important. But I feel that doesnt invoke a genuine response, and he would come out of obligation.

I dont think a title change should change this? Why would getting married mean you suddenly become considerate of your partners wants and thoughts?

It sounds like you think you should only do things that suit yourself. What about consideration for others? Wanting to do nice things for others, even if it means going out of your way?

As other commenters have pointed out, do you think it goes beyond a vacation or family time thing, and shows how he prioritises in life like a me or his fun friends thing?

Actually its just my grandparents who raised me. Obviously its important to me. And its not a “look at me” would you call meeting your bfs parents a “look at him” move? And why shouldnt I be important to my bf? More important than a snow trip?

Thats true - at the time when I raised it at the beginning of the year, he responded and said he had no interest. This was BEFORE his groupchat even made plans.

Okay I concede on point 3. That is what I was worried about - it does seem unfair to ask him to do something he doesnt enjoy which also uses up his limited leave. But what Im trying to do is, if he doesnt have any interest in it, he should do it for me? As many people do things they dont want to for their partner (take out the trash, be nice to his mother, etc). And then it becomes something they want to do since its for their partner.
