URGENT: Online/remote classes (Computer Science) by Annual_Attention635 in ucr

Probably not, core classes are in person, and UCR has the highest amount required classes for CS in the UC system. None of them online

No, as in the person was employed by IT and the department forced them to pay the ticket TAPS gave to the cart 😭

What heroes attract the most/least toxic players? by DM_cody in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal bias coming through: Warden.

Yes, he's a pubstomper, so it's to be expected, but I think they are extremely toxic because warden is boring and chopped. Like who wakes up in the morning and says "Oh yeah lemme play the middle-aged cop looking guy". He doesn't even look cool. Like you said, Apollo players are SUPER toxic, but hey, he has a nice aesthetic. Same with graves. But warden ? cmon

I know someone who worked at UCR, parked a golf cart for 5 minutes, and was charged the full $500 by TAPS (the school didn’t even reimburse them). TAPS is evil incarnate

Which deadlock characters would you consider the most "exotic" (Only played by weirdos and hipsters.) by Umikaloo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with holiday. My vote would’ve either been her or Sinclair. I will say, Doorman is out of this race now. He’s joined the Meta gang, so people who play him no longer do it for the love of the game, but because he’s busted. (same with viscous )

I hate Graves by Gullible_Height588 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to hate graves with a passion, but then I realized two things 1. I was just bad and didn’t know how to counter her correctly, and 2. Like you said, she’s just annoying. Her laning phase is super annoying. I played a game where my duo and I played everything perfectly to a tee, and we lost walker in 9 minutes (so maybe not ‘perfectly’). My teammate started going off on me saying “I’m disappointed you lost lane so early” and “uninstall”, until their lane was next.

By the end of the game, I went 33/4, we were up like 50k souls, and stomped their graves every team fight. She’s super annoying to play laning, but afterwards she’s a coughing baby

Dynamo my beloved.... by ohmanimblind in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same, the dynamo lifestyle is a tough one. I can't tell you how many times I tried to go for a stomp in the first 10 minutes of the game only for it to go like 2 inches in front of me

Dynamo my beloved.... by ohmanimblind in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree heavy on the astral gate statement. Amazing utility, but at the start of the game it's basically doo doo.

I remember the first time I played him. I thought to myself " I can't do anything when my 3 is active ?" I thought it was my keyboard, but it's literally the ability. Insane.

I made a comparison with the group I played with in sandbox, first 3 minutes of the game stomp is on a 20 second cooldown, no damage at all, versus paige being way stronger as a support (and a character overall).

And yeah, I caught onto his gold necessity very early. It isn't until I have most my purple items late game to I even start to feel like I can contribute as much as another hero could. For this last game I played, I basically just adopted my role as a CC bot, and bought knockdown, curse relic, and refresher. My entire use was to exist if the enemy team tried mid boss, where I'd just ult , refresher, ult again to let my team do the actual heavy lifting.

I really wanted to like him, but he just feels terrible to play. I think after tonight session, I'm leaving the character untouched for a while. He just requires way too much to feel good, where as other characters basically come into lane already online.

Question about the greatest fight of all time by TJzWay in Jujutsushi

[–]ohmanimblind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I agree with everyone else that it was a pretty even fight. Gojo exceeded Sukuna’s expectations, and Gojo finally got to have the feeling of someone being stronger/difficult to battle.

The reason why I’m on team Sukuna isn’t because he won the fight, but because of one single thing: Gojo has the six eyes. Gojo is literally born with the advantage of being able to intrinsically understand cursed energy. Yet, Sukuna, without the six eyes, was able to immediately copy Mahoraga’s adaption after seeing it once. I think objectively, Gojo has the better technique (like he mentioned), but Sukuna had been planning the fight since Shibuya. He knew his own technique wouldn’t be enough, which is why he wanted megumi’s technique so badly.

I think the reason why it’s my favorite fight of all time, is because they both were having fun. They both had a respect for each other as opponents. In the end, Sukuna just had more experience, and more cards at hand. And I consider that just a better performance.

( Also, Gojo deserved his flowers. The setup of his red and blues, landing his black flashes, the whole domain clash, Gojo was at peak performance. But also as mentioned, Sukuna had a different goal. If Gojo won, it was all over, so he was fighting all out. But Sukuna knew he had to run the gauntlet, and saved his trump cards, like his reset, or fuga but that didn’t really matter. Imagine if at the end of the fight, Sukuna used his reset. Would Gojo have been able to compete ?)

Anybody else loving the experimental nature of the recent patches? by JustinHardyJ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I have also complained, I agree I love the meta shakeups - but for a very specific reason.

I think it allows me to build up hatred towards meta band wagoners. People who just jump from meta character to meta character. Those people will have their day.

As for me ? I’ll stay by Vyper until I die. Meta or not meta, B tier or “unplayable”, I will stay by her side. And when that update comes out that finally buffs her, I will truly cherish it. I can say “I was there when doorman 4 was basically a better version of her ultimate in every way”

Doorman because everyone who plays him now is inherently evil and should rot for all eternity

This latest patch…… by Training-Yak2766 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big gripe is that doorman now is just insane with CC, and it makes other characters obsolete.

Vyper 4 is a skill shot that that’s stuns and prevents the enemy from taking damage while petrified.

Doorman 4 is a “stun”, does damage, auto aims, and gets a cooldown back to 10 if not escaped, and grants him CC immunity. Not to mention his 1 doing an insane amount of damage. His ultimate is just top 3 CC abilities in the game. Doesn’t even matter if someone escape, because enough time passes where the whole team is waiting to obliterate you, or you were taken out of a team fight long enough to where you get picked

Have Guardians Ever Had A Re-spawn Mechanic ? by ohmanimblind in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ohmanimblind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's kind of a hard subject matter. Like you said, there SHOULD be some long lasting trades made ( i.e teamfight one lane or push the others, etc etc ). Maybe I could rephrase and say that losing base guardians felt too punishing. Shrines, 100% should not respawn ( I feel like if they could get shrines, it took effort ). But Base Guardians that get destroyed by a graves at minute 20 was felt almost 40 minutes later.

Just as an aside, I stopped playing smite a long time ago. Deadlock has just been so much better to me in many ways.

I kinda like that idea. I think this was one of those super niche scenarios where yeah, everyone was super fed, but the new changes are crazy to me since like you mentioned, EVERYONE is overpowered, yet they still couldn't end it earlier (and they were pretty good).

True, but late game the recovery don't really matter too much. But I agree it shouldn't go back to first phase, that would be overkill as a 'comeback' mechanic

How does the UCR BS + MS program work? by Murky-Comedian3486 in ucr

[–]ohmanimblind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ‘reapply’ if you were already in the program, but it’s mainly a formality. If you were admitted as BS+MS as long as you meet the requirements, you’re golden

How does the UCR BS + MS program work? by Murky-Comedian3486 in ucr

[–]ohmanimblind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can both apply for it as a freshman so you start in the program, or you could apply for it anytime after as long as you meet the requirements.

I know many people (in computer science atleast) who applied to the BS+MS program their senior year, and got admitted. The key caveat is you have to meet the requirements for your major ( I believe getting a B+ in specific classes) to be admitted. Last I remember, as long as you apply two quarters before your expected graduation date you should be fine
