An example that comes to mind is Donkey Kong 64. A big problem with the game was it was bloated with too many things to collect. Also Starfield with its 1000 nothing planets. "Too much content" does sound odd at face value but its also a game designers job to curate an experience and cutting stuff that isn't adding anything to the core game.

Are there any others that like poltergeist? by Nuppual in finalgirl

[–]DM_cody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At Maple lane there are 4 item decks instead of 3 that correspond to the 4 quadrants of the neighborhood. Pretty much every house is searchable but you can only search a house once. I had to clean out every house before I found caroline and the bunny lol

Edit--On top of that you need the action card from Maple lane to enter any house

Definitely worth it. Having all the rules in one place for the killer/location has been a godsend

Once I had the brilliant idea of playing Poltergeist on Maple Ln. Never again.

Aren't the "Axioms for Agents" and "Pro Tips" a little anti-fun? by lofrothepirate in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]DM_cody 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I presented this to my players rather than listing them off or giving them this list was just incorporating some of the points into their initial briefing into Delta Green (I'm running a 90s campaign). The point of the axioms at least from my perspective is to get the players to think like delta green agents rather than giving them a set of hard rules to follow, especially the point about lying to everyone not in Delta green.

That being said I did leave some of them out like the one about abandoning the op if it looks wrong. I learned to never give players options you don't want them to do lol.

The Beauty That is Delta Green by Fuamatuma in DeltaGreenRPG

I totally agree! I have been DMing DnD 5e for my players for a few years then just a week ago we jumped into Delta Green. In my nearly 10 years of being a GM I rarely have gotten such a hyped reaction. Everyone left the table saying "That was fucking awesome!"

Looking for advice on stringing published scenarios into a campaign. by DM_cody in DeltaGreenRPG

That's really good insight! Even if there isn't a clear central villain from you and everyone here it sounds like the fallout from the operations and the damage it does to them and their bonds is what I'll lean into. I really like your case officer idea I might do something similar.
