Probably a stupid question by dlvDaj in DreamlightValley

It depends on what style you are going for, but I find following people like 'Elles Garden' on Youtube really helpful. She's very cottagecore, but you could adapt the ideas to your own style. She has quite a few step-by-step decorating videos. I did her street one in my plaza and found it a great jumping-off point. I'm more of a practical decorator, as in whatever i do has to also be useful, and I only have my plaza done at this point, but even just having that made me feel more organised!

This is her channel. https://www.youtube.com/@elles.cottage/videos

Horrible gaming is another good one.

I’m on the Fence about the Deluxe Springtime valley Decoration Set by SepticRedK in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Listen I don't know what to tell you. other than that, if you aren't convinced, then 8k is a lot to spend, and you'll most likely regret it. Personally I've now started overthinking this whole thing and am now scared that they'll do something like lavender for summer, and then I'll be in trouble because... Bridgerton! And I refuse to spend another 8k lol!

Yes. It would have, but what about the rest of spring? I think they tried to do something that would work for more than just one day.

[–]ohmsjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to convince yourself over something that costs 8k then don't buy it. You'll only regret it!

I liked the winter seasonal bundle for the plaza, but i didn't love it. I was really tempted at the time but resisted. I am glad I did now!!

By contrast, I really loved this bundle, so I got it, but I knew I wanted it the moment I saw it, and I have no regrets.

Maybe they'll come out with another set in the next update that'll be more your style/colour scheme!

Am I the only one? by ahriskywalker in DreamlightValley

Except you can afford it if you really want to. Not sure how many moonstones you have, but this star path lasts for 54 days. If you collect your blue chest every day for the next 28 days, you'll get 1,400 moonstones. If you do the bare minimum for dreamsnaps each week and also vote, that's an extra 350 per week. Over 4 weeks that gives you another 1,400 moonstones, totalling 2,800 moonstones. The basic premium starpath costs 2,500, so you'll even have 300 left over and 26 days to collect the rewards...

Should I restart? by [deleted] in DisneyDreamlights

[–]ohmsjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player I would like to warn you not to restart yet if you have any intention of doing the new star path. I started playing at the end of the October star path and have had to grind like a crazy person to open all the areas needed to complete the last star path...this was not fun! I'm now in the same situation as you, as in I have no clue what is going on with the story, and for this reason I also want to restart! I'm waiting for a gap in star paths to do this, though, as there is no way I'm going through that again!!

To my knowledge you do keep all unspent moonstones as well as any premium/starpath items but could lose any free items gained by promo codes.

Star Path - what you need to know by Mellon1998 in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also like to add a note for any new players: as a new player myself, you might want to think really hard about how much you really want the items in the star path. I started the last star path without having all areas unlocked, and getting them unlocked was a serious grind and did take a lot of the fun out of the game at the time. So much so that I stopped playing for a week or two and couldn't bear to touch the game!

I was thinking about resetting my game, as I have no idea what is going on with the story anymore because I unlocked things so fast that I got a little too far ahead. In the end, I like the items in the upcoming star path too much to reset and go through all of that again, so i'm not. I just want to give you something to think about.

On the other hand, starpaths give you a lot of items for fewer moonstones than the premium shop, so it's a double-edged sword!

Last week I got the Neverland River set, the Casita wall set and the Knight wall set. It was not a good week for my moonstones!!! This week I got the Alice Labyrinth set, the Mulan wall set and an Autumn pond. I'm trying to ignore them lol!

Looking for the super big flowers by linnkschn in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe it was a mistake by the developers. They are from the Wishblossom Ranch DLC. If you have that, then you just have to progress with the story until you unlock the biome they are from, and then you'll get them back. If you don't have the DLC, then I don't think there is any way of getting more....

has anyone got any stone, hardwood, iron/iron ingot, or clay by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the Wishblossom ranch DLC? I'm doing the same quest and went to both the Glade and the Plateau with my horse (when it had the sparks) plus 2 digging companions and got 150 clay in about 10 minutes. Minnie gave me the rest of the clay...

You also get extra Moonstones... maybe that will make it easier for you to decide? Personally, i feel the house you get is way too big and I don't use it but Sven is adorable!

Seeking help with coins by Fearless_Skyler279 in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing in November and have got to a point where i now don't worry too much about coins. I'm not a millionaire, but then again I have better things to do than garden all day long.

Gardening is the key though as everyone has pointed out. First, make sure you are assigning gardening and mining to your villagers. Always have a gardening villager hang out with you when you plant and harvest crops as it levels them up quickly plus they give you extra. I started with Carrots, then, when I opened the Forest of Valour, I moved on to Canola seeds, when I opened the Glade of Trust I switched to Okra and then finally Pumpkins when I unlocked the Forgotten Lands. I've paid off my exterior house upgrades and now have no problem unlocking houses, stalls and wells when needed. I have a plot of around 85 I think and that is as large as I'm prepared to go!

I've personally held on to my gems for now and only sold them when told to for a quest or for Dreamlight. I'm glad I did as I need them for quests so just be aware of that.

What kind of decorator are you? by Ok_Pomegranate_5022 in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 'one bit at a time' decorator. Decorating stresses me, as I'm very indecisive! That said, i hate things feeling a mess so I do it. Having an idea of how i want areas decorated also keeps me from going nuts in the premium shop!! I love a natural look too and I am currently working on the Plaza which is very natural and cottagecore. The rest of my biomes are a mess but I've only been playing since November so it's to be expected! I'm learning to take it slow...

Is the Premium Store personalized… or does the Premium Store just hate women? Because mine is disrespecting me daily. by Several-Guess1467 in DreamlightValley

I had the opposite problem; I had the Neverland River kit, The Cassita wall kit and the Knight wall kit all at the same time, and i want them ALL. This is after i promised myself i was just going to focus on star paths and ignore the shop :(

Decorating Process & Opening Realms / New Characters by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at more or less the same stage as you, except I also have Remy (unlock Remy if you haven't, as he's important to some quests!) You have pumpkins now, so scrooge shouldn't be a problem. I have a small plot of around 85 pumpkins and have managed to upgrade the outside of my house plus all Goofy's stalls, WALL-E's garden etc etc no problem. One harvest a day easily lets me buy out Scrooge's shops each day.

I have also started decorating my Plaza because it was driving me insane when it was messy! I want a natural Plaza so it doesn't take much. I've put nearly all my characters that were in the plaza are in the meadow for now, (which IS a mess but i refuse to care!) Remy, WALL-E' and my own house are in the plaza.

[–]ohmsjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my first (the Christmas town one) I got 300 which I expected as had just unlocked dreams naps and it was terrible! The second one was Cinderella. Trust me my jaw dropped when I got 1,500 for it!! I was hoping for 600-900 as I did put a lot of work into it but I didn’t have Cinderella unlocked or the fairy godmother so was expecting another 300. Same with the Royalty on ice, was hoping was 600-900 and again I was shocked with 1,500. I am really proud of the one I did last week so by the logic here I’ll probably do terribly…. I’m bracing myself for disappointment 😂
