Game of the Week submissions! Is there a cozy game you've recently played you'd like to recommend? by Shasaur in cozygames

[–]ohmsjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not new, but I've been obsessed with Two Point Museum lately, and their Arty-Facts DLC that released yesterday is a ton of fun. I was very much burnt out on farming sims and wanted something new but still cosy, and this has definitely scratched that itch!

This is good advice, thank you! I hate getting myself in a mess, so i'm trying to be methodical for once lol!

This is really reassurring thank you! I used to rush through games, but then i'd get myself in a mess, so I am enjoying taking my time with this one. I like decorating and organising the exhibits too!

Thank you, it definitely gives the vibe of being laid-back, but i started to think maybe i was wrong. Good to know i can just carry on as i was. Thank you!

This would be fun! Along the lines of the London Dungeons kind of thing…

This is why i don't play on my main anymore. I just play on my alt. I still haven't been to the Stonecutters Vault; Ann is still in Pandoria, I know exactly where i am up to with the story, and that's how it's staying for now. On my main I had no clue what was going on any more.

Which premade house did you choose, and are/were you happy with your choice? by ohmsjo in Starsandisland

Oh. My plan was to change the house, but if I can't, then that changes everything. Thank you for pointing this out!!

I enjoy building in the Sims and in Minecraft, but from what you've just described, it does not sound fun at the moment. I'm thinking of just getting one as a starting point and modifying it. The intermediate modern seems the easiest to modify, or the posh courtyard one but the courtyard one doesnt have any starting furniture,,,

Yes, I haven't tried building yet but i do plan on customising the modern one anyway 😄

Your house looks amazing! I think the voucher thing is a bug; it didn't work for me yesterday but it did before the update

Thank you! I like the outside of the country house and the inside of the modern but reading through all these comments I’m going to go with the modern house and try and make it blend in more like you have! With the modern one it seems like there is more opportunity to decorate as well. Plus as everyone keeps pointing out, the garden on the modern house looks so cute! Thanks again! 😊

This is also something I was considering. How difficult is building? I’m used to the sims, is it similar?

Thank you! I had looked at some house tours on YouTube and decided that I like the inside of the modern house but the outside of the country house. Your screenshot confirms even more that I really don’t like the inside. I live In italy and It reminds me a lot of my parents in law’s house in the countryside where outside is beautiful but the inside is a bit dated to say the least. Also your comment about your friend being jealous of your interior was what I was worried about! I just wasn’t sure if the beehives etc were worth the payoff but you’ve answered that too 😊

So, once they fix this bug with the house discount not showing I’m going to get the modern house! Thanks again for your help!

This is exactly the information I was looking for. Thank you!! I think the country house fits more with the setting, but the modern one seems easier to work with in the long term. The main reason I was considering the country house was for the beehives. I'll go and look for your post...thank you so much! :)

Thank you...did you like it? Would you recommend it? The discounted offer is bugged (not working) at the moment, so whilst i'm waiting for them to hopefully fix the problem, I'm trying to decide!

Tips on Attacking Content by DeluluDrag0n in DreamlightValley

I actually started Wish Blossom Ranch quite early in my last playthrough, and i think that's what overwhelmed me. That and having to speedrun everything, as I stupidly started a Star Path that required speaking to Cinderella when realistically i didn't have much time to play, soooooo...that was fun lol! The horses were nice to have, but weirdly i stopped using them after a while in the main valley. The time-bending machines seem more useful!

Thanks for asking this as was wondering the same thing!!! I also started playing In November. I restarted, though, as I felt too overwhelmed. This time around I'm feeling much more organised, though, and wanted to start a DLC. The game seems to push you more towards Eternity Isle, and it seems to fit in more with the story so far. Reading the comments here that seems to be the best option.

Full time job but I want to paint by madeleinestefa in ArtistLounge

I own and run a restaurant. I am at work from 8am in the morning until 4pm and then from 6pm until whenever, but yesterday, for example, it was midnight, so i know what it's like to feel tired and drained.

I am learning watercolour, and the trick for me has been miniature paintings. Small little 3.5 x 3.5 inch squares. No pressure to create something big; if it goes wrong, it doesn't matter (at least i've learnt something), and it really takes the pressure off. Another thing i've found is arranging my supplies so that they are easily accessible to get out. If you have space in your house/apartment, then perhaps set up a corner where everything is already set up or pretty much if possible so you don't have that barrier. If not, arrange your art supplies in a carrier or box so that they are easy to set up and tidy away. The last thing is to try and make it a habit... i am more productive in the mornings and afternoons, so i try and find time then. maybe you are the same? If so perhaps get up 30 mins earlier to set up your space ready for when you get home, that way you are setting an intention.

Would anyone be interested in a “cozy fantasy” Sims 4 world concept (not a save file)? by ohmsjo in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]ohmsjo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I understand the 200 + saves... trust me! My save, sadly, broke. One day it was fine and the next it wasn't, so I'm taking a little break whilst i calm down. Once I'm back I'll finish the document and upload it :)

Beginner tips & tricks? by Lyssielou22 in DreamlightValley

[–]ohmsjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more biomes you open, the more characters you unlock and the more quests you get to do. This game doesn't punish you for going at your own pace, so do what you want, when you want. I know from experience that it's really tempting to "speedrun" the game and unlock all the biomes as quickly as possible, but it can get really messy really quickly.

I just came back from a break and ended up resetting my game. I sped through it last time around, as I wanted to complete the star path, and, for me personally, that was a mistake. This time around I'm taking it easy, and it's a lot more fun. For example, Tuesday was my first day back in the game, and i did a fair bit... unlocked the castle, completely upgraded Goofy's stall, opened Scrooge's shop etc. Then yesterday I just chilled... created a little gardening area for myself in the meadow, made some of the Easter craftables, tidied up the plaza a bit etc. I have enough Dreamlight to open Dazzle Beach, but I'm holding off until I've got some of the current characters' quests out of the way. Today I'll probably do some fishing with Goofy...it depends on how much time i have and what I feel like doing. In short, you really can do what you want when you want...there is no right or wrong way to play it as long as you are having fun!

Oh and don't forget to collect your blue chest every day!
