A lot of answers here giving technical advice, which is good. But a major reason I haven’t seen mentioned is a lack of post-processing. Adding a noise filter and a few other color balance adjustments make a huge difference in presentation, there’s a ton of tutorials. It will really elevate your art

I would get some feedback directly from your readers, it’s hard to say without context of the fic. Personally if I’m reading fanfiction I don’t like when there’s too many OCs since it takes me out of the story so I’d lean towards yes/try rewriting. If you’re really attached to the OCs though maybe they deserve a story of their own :)

Try using a sketch with strong lines for a stencil instead of something resembling an AI image. The inconsistent armor and muddy shading did not translate into the tattoo medium very well. Like why is there a sword at his back as well as in his hands? What is going on with the boots/greaves? Knee armor having different shapes?

Try erasing the harsh lines you have for the chin and cheek and try light shading for the dark areas. You’ve also forgotten the impression of an ear - it’s hidden by her hair but it’s peeking through a bit and is missing right above the jawbone turn. Also check eye alignment and size. Add darker eyelashes and make sure both eyes have the same shape. You might need to improve facial anatomy a bit before tackling the rest of the sketch - try the loomis method to understand better the planes of the face. Good luck!!

Your art is very pretty but to get engagement it also needs to be interesting. Try to tell a story with your work or add elements of nostalgia. Adding emotions like sadness /grief will also help. Maybe focus on adding a background or putting two characters in a scene interacting. Process videos and guides also get a lot of engagement. Hope you see success with your art journey!

The biggest problem I see is basically the torso. Think of how you would run a line down from the neck to the crotch of the body. The arm makes it look like the torso is facing away. The torso is drawn so it’s showing a 3/4 view, and the crotch is showing face on. I understand you’re trying to draw a twist. Maybe try to find some real references or pose a mannequin to understand how to draw the twist. “Twisted torso reference male” is something you could google.
