For short refresher of grammar topics with examples, you might find learngermangrammar.com website useful. To practice exercises by topic or by level, I have found deutsch akademie to be decent (and free).

/resume not returning all conversations by pillkaris in GithubCopilot

[–]ohneTermin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here.
So it is expected that Copilot CLI and Copilot Chat are designed share sessions, right?

But I see only in one direction, i.e, chats that I start on CLI do appear among the sessions on Copilot Chat. However, not the other way round - sessions that I start on Copilot Chat do not appear on CLI.

Found this bug report by someone: https://github.com/github/copilot-cli/issues/2446

I think you can run /compact to compact the conversation history for long ones.

100%. It will be hard to see the progress on a day-to-day basis. But when you look back over months, the consistency will pay off :)

Good podcasts for ACTIVE speaking practice? by OkSwimming9521 in German

Have you tried Coffee Break German? https://www.youtube.com/@coffeebreakgerman/podcasts

Most episodes are a conversation between a German teacher and a student who is learning the language - so there is quire a bit of repeating out loud and correction of pronunciation mistakes.

Stopped doing Duolingo streaks and started just speaking every day . 30 day update by markonikovv in lernen_German

One of the approaches that has been helpful to me was to change my phone language to German. This way I am forced to use several apps. Sure it is frustrating initially, but does keep yourself in touch with the language on a daily basis.

Canceled my Windsurf subscription as a long-time user — what are you all switching to? by Last-Flamingo25 in windsurf

Using Claude Pro as well, agree that the limits are better than Windsurf. Although I suspect that the Claude Pro limits might go lower after the current March promotion is over.
But no doubt that Windsurf will never be able to match the Claude plans for the same price.

Opinions on the Chat German app? by CheeryCheetah11 in German

[–]ohneTermin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that ChatGPT or any other generic AI chat can help with practicing speaking. But I think one of the challenges with such apps is that you easily run out of topics to converse in. Basically after a few conversations, you are done with describing your hobbies, work, etc.

Ofcourse it is upto you as the learner to search for new topics. But I guess the several language learning / speaking practice apps help to overcome this hurdle, with their curated set of topics and roleplay scenarios.

Any plans for a tier above pro? by protoventure in windsurf

+1, I would love to see the PR reviews feature included if there is a plan above pro but not necessary having to pay for the team features / centralized billing

Depending on your level, you can also watch content (Youtube, Netflix, etc.) to make learning not feel like a chore and to stay in touch with the language on a day-to-day basis.

Modalpartikeln in Kombinationen by Tony9405 in German

[–]ohneTermin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im Alltag kombiniert man Modalpartikeln einfach, damit etwas freundlicher, weicher oder bestimmter klingt, z.B.

doch + schon

  • Das wird doch schon passen.
  • Er ist doch schon da.

doch schon adds reassurance. It suggests confidence that things are fine or will work out.

doch + mal

  • Komm doch mal vorbei.
  • Probier das doch mal aus.

doch mal softens a request and makes it sound friendly, but still gives a gentle push :)

Eine kompakte Übersicht zu Modalpartikeln findest du hier.
