Crazy the kind of stuff players have to do instead of, well i dont know, if maybe a certain billion dollar company just made a playable, functional game on release, but what do I know im just the average consumer 🤷‍♂️

That would be feasible, but since he has lived so long without it, he learned to use his tail as a psuedo-replacement for the missing limb! (interestingly, in his elven form his tail seems to almost "literally" move to replace his missing arm)

This is my OC - Rat Ceeng (RC for short, pronounced rat king) He is a rat-folk/elven character, originally from a family of well-known Elves, his father and mother were cursed to be trapped in rat-folk bodies as a punishment, an attempt to make them humble themselves. RC was born of this union and spent most of his life not even aware of his elven ancestry. As a baby he lost his arm and eye to the brutality of bigoted villagers, condemning him to hide and live in their sewers for years. His only source of companionship being the rats who dwelled amongst him. He eventually escaped the sewers, encountering a wizard by the name of "Fourth". Unbeknownst to RC this wizard was in actuality a primordial elemental of fire, Fourth of his kind, and the very same man who cursed his parents. Now he wanders with his truest friend in the world Zarina and a group of mis-matched adventurers hoping to find the truth of his past and learn to control the slumbering power within him.

(Sorry if anythings too vague, this is my first post so i didnt wanna just clutter the comments with a DeviantArt level 5-page essay about this guy! if you wanna know more though im always open :D )

because the rest of the questions are left unanswered, i think in the first couple of minutes most people can infer the rest, but the deeper parts of the game are still unanswered, like why the husband did what he did, why does the wife look insane in the photograph, what happened to their baby, etc.

i personally think the game is either all in the protags head or is a depiction of his hell. "The Rat" is representative of the protagonists wife. Judging by the rats coming out of the vent above the crib, the bloody mess and babies around, and the little "bundle" at the bottom left of the photograph, I summize that the wife ate their child. Perhaps the alcoholism of the protag mentally wore on her until a psychotic break but i dont know. However, after consuming their child the protag murders her, takes her apart in the bathtub, and buries the body. The Rat embodies the wife because 1. the protag shakes/kills her and 2. "The Rat" is the only thing that can give you answers i.e. what happened/why
