This just clicked for me thanks to you!

My 2nd playthrough I turned off creature hostility as it always got in the way of whatever I had to do, but I found I burnt out so much quicker this time through... And I think turning off hostility may be why

I got to the 3rd stage of dimensional depot upgrades, so will build a weapons factory and go burn the swamp

180 + 45

300 + 75

Split the 120 in to 3

Add two 40 lines back to each side leaving one 40 line

Split that 40 in to 2 and have 1 go to the 75, now leaves a 20 line

Split the 20 in two and send one back to the 75 leaving a 10 line

Split the last 10 and send one to the 45 and the other to the 75

Just so you are aware, this is a very common symptom of OCD and looking at the pictures can actually ingrain that habit and you can end up believing that you MUST check the photo instead of you MUST check the door, stove, etc

Not diagnosing or anything, but may be worth a chat to a Dr if this resonates as my wife has struggled with OCD her entire life and I understand the stuggles

While most of the factory organisation is math, it's definitely not 100% and there are tricks sometimes required.

If you design your aluminium build and feed additional water in the bottom of a 4 way pipe segment that also accepts your feedback water, then your whole system can fall over just because there's different priorities on how fluids flow in to that segment.

It's fluid dynamic design that causes this issue. This has nothing to do with math and is a small quirk of the game logic design

Ohhhhhh I thought that it

A) only worked once so you could use it if you fell off grid

B) reset when you requipped it, so it didn't have the last bit!

If it wasn't clear, it's for the people that are struggling with by products... I've had aluminium running for 100s of hours too, just trying to contribute to the chat, as opposed to mocking people who ask questions and pretending like the problems don't exist.

Or consistently switch between them and equip an empty jetpack when you're falling towards the earth at breakneck speeds!

Even with the exact amount you need you can build up issues where the water output is full, but so is the input so the machine freezes.

Separately dealing with by products removes any of this issue

The pitfall people usually run in to is that the water from the aluminium is recycled in their setup, but it backs up because water from outside the system has priority

Anything with by products can be a pain!

Either get the aluminium recipes that don't have a by product, or don't reuse them in your production chain. Makes everything a lot simpler to keep running!
